On Friday, March 23rd, Hollywood Hot Rod Car Designer George Barris was honored when a street in Los Angeles was named after him. It's near the auto customizing shop that bears his name & is called GEORGE BARRIS PLACE. Many of his original custom cars were on display like the Batmobile used in the 1966 "Batman" TV Series, The Munster Coach from "The Munsters" 60's TV Show, The 1969 Dodge Charger from "The Dukes of Hazzard", & even the 1980's DeLorean from the "Back To The Future" movies. The 1st photo is of the beautiful sign & the next picture is a newspaper clipping from the LA Times showing the event. If anyone EVER deserved a street named after him then it would be George Barris....He is worthy! He is worthy!!
