VINTAGE BATMAN TOYS FROM THE SIXTIES!

The BAT-BLOG is mainly about the joys of collecting Vintage Batman Toys so we thought we would post some cool 60's toys today! The 1st photo the famous SIP-A-DRINK CUP from the UK. This baby is pretty RARE & we really love the vintage graphics. The handle is ALSO a drinking straw so it provides hours of fun for sipping your favorite chocolate milk! ( Nestle Quik is the best ). The 2nd photo is a nice assortment of 1960's vanity license plates featuring different pictures of Batman. The one tht says, "Protected By Batman" is kinda funny! The last item is the very beautiful 1966 BATMAN PINBALL BAGATELLE made by MARX TOYS & shown in the original box. The graphics on this game are awesome & really great for display!!! FREE COMIC BOOK DAY Saturday May 5th, 2007

Remember that on Saturday May 5th, 2007 it's FREE COMIC BOOK DAY! For anyone living under a rock the last few years FREE COMIC BOOK DAY is an event that happens at most comic book stores where they have a huge assortment of FREE comic books that they give away for free. This has been an attempt by the comic book industry to gain new customers because it's such a rough market. So, remember to hit your friendly neighborhood comic shop that day & while you're there maybe buy a few Batman comics!

BATMAN JONES Classic 1950's Comic Book Cover!

In the 1950's DC Comics created a very short lived character named BATMAN JONES. I mean, very short, like only one issue, Batman #108. But the funny thing is that this guy has recently become sort of a cult figure among Batman Fans. I think it has to do with his cool customized bicycle! The basic story is this newspaper delivery boy was so engrossed with Batman, from reading alot of news stories of his adventures, that he became sort of a Junior Crimefighter & created the Bat-Bike & Batman Costume. Here at the BAT-BLOG we love this guy!

MADE IN JAPAN : Japanese Batman Memorabilia

Here are 2 beautiful Vintage Batman items from one of my favorite countries...Japan! The 1st photo is an original Japanese Press-Release Kit that 20th Century Fox made for the 1966 Batman Movie. This was only mailed to newspaper & magazine companies, to help publicize the movie, & is super RARE. The 2nd item is a "Bootleg Toy" of a cute little boy dressed in a well-made Batman costume. Not sure of the exact date but I'm guessing 1980's era. Be sure to check the BAT-BLOG ARCHIVES for many more examples of RARE Japanese Memorabilia. Vintage 1980's Batman & Joker T-Shirts ( 1989 Movie )

Recently, at the BAT-BLOG Message Board, a friend posted a few pics of his favorite Vintage 1980's Batman T-Shirts that were made during the 1989 Batman Movie. Now I remember during the time the movie was out that these were everywhere! Back in the 80's I even saw them at 7-eleven! And, for a few years, they were really common. But now, they are getting pretty scarce & are really good to look out for as both a collectible piece of bat-memorabilia & just to wear because they're cool! The pic up above shows only a tiny example of the many that were made. Most are licensed & some are bootleg. You can usually very easily spot the fakes because the graphic quality is really bad or the colors are off. Be sure to check the BAT-BLOG Message Board for our friend's pictures showing more of them.
