Yesterday was the final entry time to enter our latest contest & last night, at midnight, we randomly picked 5 lucky people who will now receive a free copy of THE GOTHAM TIMES ( German Edition ) NEWSPAPER. This was a promotional premium at German movie theaters during The Dark Knight Batman movie & is actually very hard to come by here in the USA. To me, that made these prizes extremely cool! New Bat-Blog Contest: THE GOTHAM TIMES Newspaper GERMAN EDITION!!

OK, We just ran a Bat-Blog Contest that was pretty successful & I really enjoy doing them so much that I decided to have another one already! Actually, just the other day I hit my post office box & was really surprised to find a few copies of THE GOTHAM TIMES Newspaper there. The thing that made them very unique was that they are the GERMAN LANGUAGE EDITION! The headline reads, "BATMAN, RETTER ODER BEDROHUNG?". Which, if I did the translation right, means "Batman, Rescuer or Threat?". Yes, these are the ones distributed at movie theaters in Germany & are totally in German! Now, I can't read them at all ( ha ha ) but they are very beautiful to look at & very hard to find in the USA...a nice collectible. Another thing that's really neat about them is that the inside is a full-color movie poster of The Dark Knight! For people who have never seen these ( even the US copies ) they are printed on real newspaper paper stock, in the actual size, & look just like real newspapers! These GERMAN EDITIONS were mailed to us from a good friend who lives there. His name is Guenter & I really appreciate him sending these. It was an extremely generous thing to do & as soon as I saw them I knew it had to be the very next Bat-Blog Contest! So, we're gonna take entries until October 15th. Batman Collector Shows us Some Recent Finds!

I just received an e-mail from a Batman Collector named William who had these fun new things to share. He recently acquired these interesting pieces of Batman Memorabilia. He wrote, "A friend of mine got a Gotham Style Pizza with a Gotham Times Newspaper in it. I told her I was jealous, and she mailed it to me! Then I got a call from another friend, saying they had some things for me. When I met him, he had the Burt Ward Autographed Vintage Photo, and the Batman Bat-Symbol Tie Tack! How cool is that?" WOW! William, that's extremely cool ( I'm jealous, ha ha ). Looks like you have some pretty good friends. All of that is some pretty neat items. Thanks for sharing these pictures, that's always fun. The New GOTHAM TIMES NEWSPAPER, Volume 3, is Online!

While I have been away The Dark Knight movie viral-marketing website, THE GOTHAM TIMES, has posted the new current issue of their newspaper, Volume 3. The headline reads, "BATMAN: SAVIOR OR MENACE?". Click on the Gotham Times Logo down below to read that issue:

Recently, at special locations, Warner Brothers gave out a fake newspaper called The Gotham Times ( See large photo up above that is also a Desktop Wallpaper ). It looks like a real-life newspaper! It's even printed on the same kind of paper. In it there are fake ads for businesses you might see in a real newspaper. Well some of these fake companies have been popping up all over the internet. One of them is for the Gotham Police Department. Here's a picture of their website's header with the "Official GCPD Seal"...it looks VERY real!

They even made a page for the Railway Transit System with a map & everything. The funny thing is they show the line to Wayne Towers being under-construction because, if you remember, in Batman Begins that section near the building was destroyed, ha ha!!
