ROBIN ( Jason Todd ) Seen on CBS TV Game Show, Ha!

This is going to fit into "Weird & Wacky Bat-News" but it's kinda fun so follow me here. A friend of the Bat-Blog, named Travis, was channel surfing the other day & couldn't believe his eyes when he saw a guy on TV dressed as a beaten and bloodied Robin/Jason Todd! But he managed to sneak a screen shot so check out the pic! Yes! That's Jason Todd, AFTER being beaten by The Joker with a Crowbar!! Good eye Travis. Now, for people who want to see the entire episode, it's online for a limited time at the CBS website. This is the show that aired on April 15th, just click HERE! Oh yeah, as a side note, I think the "Hawaiian Girl" is kinda cute, ha!

New ROBIN THE BOY WONDER Character Glass - Batman Toon Tumblers

This brand-new Character Glass of ROBIN, THE BOY WONDER just hit the market & like all the other glasses from this series will probably sell-out pretty soon. I love that they devoted a glass to Batman's partner. The graphics are really great! On the front is the image you see up above & on the back is the ROBIN "comic book logo". Oh yeah, I guess I should mention that the glass is totally clear but in this photo a piece of white paper was put inside to allow the image to be photographed. So, it looks a lot more cool than the dumb photo. This glass, of course, is one of the "Toon Tumblers" in the DC Comics line. So far they have made Poison Ivy, Joker, Harley Quinn, etc...Let's hope that they eventually make glasses of every single Batman character out there, ha ha! For more information be sure to click the link down below.

New BATMAN - THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD "The Knights of Tomorrow" Wallpaper Backgrounds

Here, for your viewing pleasure, are 2 brand-new BATMAN WALLPAPERS with images from the next TV Batman: The Brave and The Bold episode, "The Knights of Tomorrow". Tonight's show will be sort of special because it's going to send Batman through time & we'll all get a look at all the many variations of the character in different eras. Like, "The Riddler" Wallpaper Background shows a 1939 Golden Age Batman ( See the short purple gloves, unique bat-belt with circle buckle, & his ears are super-pointy ). Then the one with Robin is very much like the 1940's when Bruce first acquired Robin, the Boy Wonder. It has a very 1940's look about it too. Awesome! This episode looks like it's going to be great! It airs on Friday, November 19th at 7:30pm on the Cartoon Network. After watching it, please let us know what you think about it.

VIDEO - Burt Ward's GENTLE GIANTS Canine Cuisine

Fans of the 1966 BATMAN TV Show will totally recognize this guy, it's Burt Ward! Of course he was the actor who played Robin, The Boy Wonder. Well, he's now in the Dog Food business. I've mentioned his charity organization "Gentle Giants" before here at the Bat-Blog. It's sort of an animal rescue for huge dogs that he & his wife have been running for a long time. But now they have created "Gentle Giants Canine Cuisine". Here's the TV commercial.

In 1976 Dave was Robin, The Boy Wonder!

I love it when Bat-Blog Fans send us their vintage family photos & share their love of the Batman Universe. This group of pictures is our buddy Dave back in 1976! That Summer he made this incredible Robin, The Boy Wonder costume!! Dave said,
"Growing up in New Jersey, I was consumed with reruns of GET SMART, original STAR TREK, The MONKEES, and of course, BATMAN!! Adam West was fantastic as Batman, but he was a grown-up ( and kind of beefy! ). Weighing only 80 pounds, I found it much easier to relate to the lean, acrobatic Boy Wonder as portrayed by the great Burt Ward. Looking back, my primitive sewing skills were not that polished, but I think that my homemade Robin outfit holds up pretty well."
Yes, this homemade costume is really GREAT! Thanks for sharing the fun pics. As a side note, that one picture of you on the ladder looks exactly like a famous publicity photo of Burt Ward. It's the same angle & pose, everything, that's cool! If any other Bat-Blog Readers out there have similar pics to share then please mail them in. Our email button is always on the top right-hand side of this blog page, thanks.

Here's a great set of vintage photos sent in by our buddy BatDave. Back in 2001 he was lucky enough to meet both Adam West & Burt Ward! Of course we all know them as Batman & Robin, The Boy Wonder from the 1966 TV series. Thanks to Dave for sending this photo, it's very cool! Actually, I'm sort of jealous a little bit because I have never got to meet these guys, ha!

Holy Canine Cuisine, Batman!

Well, it looks like Robin, The Boy Wonder, is in the dog food business now. To be more precise, I'm talking about Burt Ward, the actor who played Dick Grayson / Robin in the 1966 TV series. For the last few years Ward & his wife have been running a Large Dog Adoption Service called GENTLE GIANTS. We reported that here before on the Bat-Blog. But the cool thing is that they have now come out with their very own brand of dog food. They named it after the charity, GENTLE GIANTS. They have 2 different sizes for sale: Large is 37 1/2 pounds & $34.99. Medium is 17 1/2 pounds & $19.99. If you would like some more information then be sure to click HERE!

Some Brand-New BATMAN FAN Websites Worth Checking Out!

Here's a quick post to sort of promote 2 very cool Batman-related Websites by some friends of the Bat-Blog. They're both brand-new & have a clever twist. The 1st one is called "HOLY SMOKES BATMAN!" & it's main focus is recounting ALL the different times that Robin ( Burt Ward ) said the phrase "Holy..." on the 1966 TV Series. There are actual audio clips of every phrase & if you check out the site then be sure to click on "Play The Entire Library" to hear them all & have a really great laugh! Our friend Jay did a great job on this site & it's a lot of fun. Just click HERE!

The next Batman-Fan website is actually a re-vamp of an older, existing page, except our friend Stephanie changed it around to the blogging format & it's really way better. It's called "BATMAN-CITY, The Ultimate Batman Trading Card Guide on the Web" & it's obsessive focus is collecting very detailed information about all the different Batman Trading Card Sets & Promo Cards from around the world. You know how I am totally goo-goo over "the foreign stuff" so I'm really liking it so far, ha ha! She just recently started this blog but if it become 1/2 as detailed as her other "Reference Guide" website then it should be quite good...keep an eye on it. Just Click HERE!

ROBIN, THE BOY WONDER Website Promo Contest Continues!

HOLY WEBSITE PROMO, BATMAN!! The BAT-BLOG is still teamed-up with ROBIN, THE BOY WONDER! OK, not the actual character but the actor who played him in the 1966 Batman TV Series, Burt Ward! For the next few weeks we'll feature a few different contests to help promote Burt Ward's brand-new website. It's called ROBINTHEBOYWONDER.COM & it has a lot of neat information, trivia, & merchandise. Plus, right now, it's about the only place to get Burt Ward-autographed items because he's taking a break from the whole comic book convention circuit thing. While there you can find many signed items like photos, books, & even some Hot Wheels 1966 Batmobile Cars. You might remember last week we gave away a signed-copy of his bio-book, "Boy Wonder, My Life in Tights". This week we're giving away an Official Black & White 8 X 10 Photo that has the authentic "Burt Ward - Robin" Autograph! Now, please excuse my bad picture here but this Bat-item up for grabs is really an extremely sharp, very nice quality, photo showing the "Behind The Scenes" antics from the making of the '66 TV Show. Remember the classic skit where Batman & Robin were climbing up the side of a Gotham City building? They did that by walking on a fake building facade that was on the ground with a background of the sky turned sideways. The camera was also turned on it's side creating the illusion that they were "GOING UP the building". Yes, I know, ha ha, great stuff! This photo shows the set, actors, camera crew, & even the wires that helped to keep Batman & Robin's capes "falling down" ( they had to make the capes look like they were draping down from the gravity )...very cool! Now, here are the simple rules: Just e-mail us your full name / address with the phrase "ROBIN THE BOY WONDER B&W PHOTO" in the title. The contest will run until Sunday, June 7th, 2009 & will end at 11:30 pm Central Time. Then, the next morning a winner will be randomly drawn & announced here on June 8th. Please keep in mind that this contest is separate from the previous one so you have to enter again if you wanna try to win this photo. Also, unlike the signed book, this contest is open to everybody. Click on the e-mail button to send us your entry & then afterward be sure to click on the "Robin, The Boy Wonder" button to visit Burt's new website!

OK! This Bat-Blog Contest was created to help promote Burt Ward's brand-new website called ROBINTHEBOYWONDER.COM. Of course we all know him as the actor who played Robin on the 1966 Batman TV Show. He's really excited about his new site & he asked us to give a few fans a chance to win some cool prizes. We're like, totally ok with that! So, we're now offering all Bat-Blog Readers ( above the age of 18 & legal age only ) the chance to win a signed-copy of Burt Ward's Biography Book titled "BOY WONDER, My Life In Tights". As you can see it's completely autographed with the name BURT WARD "ROBIN" on the front title page. It also has a special "Robin The Boy Wonder" Hologram Sticker to prove it's authenticity! This book recalls Burt Ward's many adventures that happened around the time he did the 1966 Batman Television Series. Plus, some of his life afterwards. It's a total Bat-Fan Favorite & now you have a chance to win your very own copy, signed by the Boy Wonder himself! Also, there will be more prizes later so stay tuned to the bat-Blog for those ( we're doing one contest at a time but have a few things to give away ). The rules are pretty simple. Due to the erotic nature of this book all entrants must be of Legal Age Only! That means you have to be at least 18 years old or older in the USA. What you need to do is e-mail us your FULL NAME & ADDRESS with the message, "I am a legal adult ( 18+ ) & wish to enter this contest".
