The Bat-Blog was recently blessed with a preview of a brand-new illustration by famed Graphic Designer Christopher Franchi. He's the Art Director for Metaluna 5 Media, which handles a lot of licensed properties like: KISS, Bettie Page, Alice Cooper, Star Trek, Superman, Spawn, Peanuts, Evil Dead, Betty Boop and the list goes on & on. Here is an EXCLUSIVE & Super-Awesome 1966 BATMAN WALLPAPER Chris created for the BAT-BLOG! Well, he did all the artwork & I put the Bat-Blog Logo on it, ha! Now, of course, this image relates to the 1960's BATMAN MOVIE because it shows Lee Merriwether as Catwoman. Plus, it's got the other Super-Evil Villains: The Joker ( Cesar Romero ), The Penguin ( Burgess Meredith ), The Riddler ( Frank Gorshin ), and the Hero himself, BATMAN ( Adam West )! The artwork is extremely amazing! The illustrations were all done on Cold-Press Art Board with Gouache and Colored Pencil. Then, they were scanned and assembled digitally. I like how each character has their own colored-outline, to make them sort of pop-off the page. There is also that "light ray" effect that's pretty freakin' cool!! ( Thanks Christopher, I know everybody is going to totally love this incredible Bat-Art!! )
This is a quick post to share what a lot of people have told me is the 1st official photo of Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle. Hey, it looks like she's stealing the Bat-Pod! Now, I seriously don't think this is the CATWOMAN Costume. It's really just a tease from Warner Bros. Yeah, we'll have to wait a little longer to see the Cat-Suit, ha! Here's a cool video a friend sent us a link to. It's a basic presentation by a Mattel Spokeperson of some new IMAGINEXT DC SUPER FRIENDS TOYS coming out this year. These were presented at the last 2011 TOY FAIR. It looks like they're coming out with a brand-new multi-level Bat-Cave and a ton of new Batman Figures! Here, we get to see the Penguin & his Penguin-Sub, Another Batmobile Vehicle, Clayface, & Catwoman with her Cat-Cycle. Man, how many items are they making for this toy line? I'm gonna need 3 more jobs to buy all of this stuff, ha ha!
Here's a nice 12 minute long video made up of various clips from the BATMAN: ARKHAM CITY Game. We get to see some great action & game play featuring Catwoman & Two-Face, the characters look great! Oh man, this game just keeps looking better & better!

Yesterday I was on Facebook and was surprised to see this amazing portrait of CATWOMAN by a Digital Artist named Randy Silvia. He was kind enough to allow me to post it & I knew I had to share it on the Bat-Blog, it's beautiful!! He created it with Adobe Illustrator CS. The Los Angeles County Museum of Art will present Tim Burton, a major retrospective exploring the full range of Tim Burton's creative work, both as a director of live-action and animated films, and as an artist, illustrator, photographer, and writer. Showcased here are just a few of the "Batman Items" that will be present. We got an original Batman Cowl from a Batman Movie, plus some Costume Design Drawings of both the Penguin & Catwoman from "Batman Returns" and one of The Joker ( Jack Nicholson ) from 1989's BATMAN. Plus, you know there will be much much more! Wow! It looks like a great show!It will be on view at LACMA from May 29th ( This Sunday! ) through October 31st, 2011, the exhibition brings together over 700 drawings, paintings, photographs, moving-image works, storyboards, puppets, concept artworks, maquettes, costumes, and cinematic ephemera, including art from a number of unrealized and little-known personal projects. Many of these objects come from the artist's own archive, as well as from studio archives and private collections of Burton's collaborators.Also, IMPORTANT BOOK SIGNING NOTICE:Tim Burton will be available at the LAC Museum on SATURDAY, May 28th to personally sign the exhibition catalog book. DC Direct just announced this New CATWOMAN STATUE that will come out towards the end of the year. It was sculpted by Karen Palinko.This rendition of Gotham City’s most purrrfect Cat Burglar is the latest addition to DC Direct’s exclusive 1:4 scale museum quality statue series. Catwoman’s costume is tailored and detailed, while various mixed media elements give this statue texture and visual interest.The CATWOMAN 1:4 SCALE MUSEUM QUALITY STATUE includes hand-painted resin parts, measures approximately 19” high x 10” wide x 7” deep, and will hit the stores around December 21st, 2011 with a retail price of about $325.00.
Finally! DC Universe is finally starting to release some images from their next animated film, BATMAN: YEAR ONE. Of course we're talking about the animation-version of the famous Frank Miller & David Mazzucchelli Graphic Novel by the same name. Today, The Hollywood Reporter got some EXCLUSIVE images from the movie. We also get a list of the voice actors: Bryan Cranston ( AMC's Breaking Bad ) is playing Jim Gordon, Ben McKenzie is Bruce Wayne / Batman, Eliza Dushku is Selina Kyle / Catwoman, and Katee Sackhoff is Detective Sarah Essen.
We're excited! The Bat-Blog just got some awesome new photos showing the costumes and set design for the UK stage show of BATMAN LIVE WORLD ARENA TOUR!! They were very large pics so I decided to offer them as super-fun BATMAN LIVE WALLPAPERS you can use to brighten your desktop's background. All the photos are pretty much self-explanatory! The 1st one shows the costumes for some of the characters: The Joker, Catwoman, Harley Quinn, Batman, Robin, Riddler, The Penguin, & Poison Ivy. The next wallpaper features just Batman and Robin, but it shows a lot of details to their costume design. Last, but not least, the final photo shows what the "Gotham City" Set Design of the Stage will look like. So, which costume is your favorite?
