Yes! THE DARK KNIGHT RISES Batman movie is really getting underway! Here's a video showing the "Camouflage Version" of the Tumbler cruising the streets of Pittsburgh! Actually, there are 3 of them. I guess they either have back-up ones or they each perform a different function...cool!

New BATMAN SHAKE 'N GO DC Super Friends TOY CARS By Fisher Price

Just released in stores right now are some extremely super cool BATMAN SHAKE 'N GO Toy Cars by Fisher-Price! Of course they're a part of the never-ending DC SUPER FRIENDS Toy Line. There's a Brand-New BATMOBILE for Batman, a JOKERMOBILE for Joker, and even a MR. FREEZE CAR too! Our Bat-Reporter Friend, Batmobilly, got some amazing shots the other night while he was shopping. I really like the look of these cars, but the packaging is so beautiful it could make you cry. No, I'm not crying, it's just that some ceiling fan blew some dust in my eye... really. ( Thanks Batmobilly! )

The Wacky ARTWORK of CHRIS MASON - 1966 BATMAN TV SHOW George Barris Custom Cars Tribute

OK, Even if you're not a BIG FAN of the '66 BATMAN TV Series then you still have to admit that this artwork is pretty AWESOME!! These "1966 BATMAN" Drawings were done by our ultra-talented friend Chris Mason. He was actually commissioned by another friend, Jim Edwards. The 1st one features Batman & Robin, The Boy Wonder ( Adam West & Burt Ward ), riding in the Classic "George Barris" Batmobile! The 2nd one shows The Joker ( Cesar Romero ) in his Jokermobile!! Just in case you're not familiar with this Joker Car, it was featured in the TV show & I posted a reference photo showing how it looks today at the Petersen Automobile Museum in Los Angeles, CA.
One last thing: BOTH of these graphics are placed here as BATMAN WALLPAPERS so please be sure to use them to brighten you desktop today! Oh yeah, and a special THANK YOU to Chris & Jim for allowing us to post these Masterpieces of ART!

New Eaglemoss BATMAN AUTOMOBILIA Die-Cast Batmobile Series

Eaglemoss Collections, the UK company that brought us the cool "DC Superhero Figurines", is now coming out with a new collection of Batmobiles! These new cars are die-cast, 1:43 Scale, & come inside a presentation case that has a 3D lenticular backdrop. Also, each car comes with a collectible 12-page magazine that gives the history of the vehicle. The 1st car in the BATMAN AUTOMOBILIA Series will be the Batmobile from the 1989 Batman Movie! Then, they're making the 1966 Batmobile from the Classic TV Show!
Here's a list of the five cars in the 1st wave:
- 1989 Batman Movie
- 1966 Batman TV Show
- 2005 Batman Begins Movie
- 2009 Comic Book Version
- 1944 Comics Version
They plan on continuing the collection & those cars, in the 2nd wave, will include: 1992 The Animated Series, 1985 Comic Book Version, 1939 Comics, 1995 Comics, & 2008 The Dark Knight Movie Bat-Pod!
Oh man, these sound really great! Plus, the production photos of the 1st five cars so far look really really good, I'm totally excited!! Now the bad news: I gotta say that these cars will take a little trouble to find in the US. You see, they're made in the UK exclusively for the European Market & will only be made available in the USA through special outlets. One rumor I've heard is that they might be distributed through Diamond Distributors, they supply American Comic Book Stores with product. So, you might check one of those. Another source will be a few online stores that do ship in the US. Once I get that list compiled I will be doing another post here so be sure to stay tuned to the Bat-Blog!

THE EVOLUTION OF THE BATMOBILE

Here's a graphic image that has become pretty popular lately on the internet. The images are very BIG so you will have to click on each individual graphic to see the whole thing. I mean, this thing is HUGE! It's called "The Evolution of The Batmobile" & it's brought to you by both the BATMOBILE HISTORY and CAR INSURANCE websites. I kinda know the guy who does the "Batmobile History" page & it's great! It's been a favorite of mine for a long time & is an awesome reference for every Batmobile ever made. Now, back to this picture. Basically, it covers the entire history of the Batmobile car & besides being sort of educational, it's actually a lot of fun... check it out!

New Hot Wheels Batmobile Cars - 2010 Mexico Convention Exclusives

Here are some photos sent in by a Bat-Blog Reader who is collecting the Hot Wheels "2010 Mexico Convention" Cars ( Thanks Cam ). Basically, there was an event held in Mexico by Toy Collectors & Mattel sent some of their Designers who brought a ton of Exclusive Promo-Batmobile Cars. Here's a "Brave and The Bold" car with Mexican flag graphics, a VW Drag Bus with a mural painted on the side to create the illusion that the van is actually the 1966 Batmobile ( that one is pretty cool because it's kinda weird ), and, finally, another Chrome '66 Batmobile. It's crazy now how many different variations we have seen. In fact, here's a post we did awhile back with other Mexican Convention Batmobiles... Just click HERE!

BATMAN - THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD MATCHBOX CARS 5-Pack Gift Set

Here's a brand-new Batman Toy to look out for on your next trip to Target. Here's the MATCHBOX CAR 5-Pack Gift Set with a BATMAN: THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD TV cartoon theme. The cars & trucks all feature Gorilla Grodd, Green Arrow, Batman, & Joker graphics. Yes, my favorite one is the purple car with the Joker on it. But actually, they're all pretty neat. This set retails for about $8.99, not a bad price. ( Thanks to Batmobilly for sending the photo ).

9 Old School BATMAN Vehicles That Rocked!!

Over at the BREAKDOWN COVER website they created a really neat list ( with photos ) of the Top 9 Coolest Classic Vehicles that were used on the 1966 BATMAN TV Show. Like the 1st one ( #9 ) was the "Batman Parachute Pick-Up Service" Van...that's funny! They also show some of the Custom Cars used by the Bat-Villains like Catwoman, The Joker, & The Penguin. Here's a link to check it out, just click HERE!

Some Brand-New Batman "Hot Wheels" Merchandise Has Been Spotted!

Alright, Here's a news report from our Retail-News Reporter Batmobilly! It looks like he's been hitting a few stores lately. He tells us that at Toys-R-Us he saw the new wave of Hot Wheels Batmobile Cars, the cool 1:50 Scale. As an example the BATMISSLE from the Batman Returns movie is shown. Next is another diecast item from Mattel that even I didn't know existed yet. It's a Monster Jam "Monster Duo" Set. You get the Bat-Truck & a special Hot Wheels Car ( Sort of looks like the Vintage Movie version here ). I really like that car! The last photo is from Wal-Mart & he said he took the pic because getting these DVD movies for only 5 bucks each is a pretty good deal. That is, if you just need 1 of them. Actually they have bundled all 4 of these movies together in one set for around $10. But if you're just missing one of these then $5 is cool. Thanks Batmobilly for the great report! If YOU, the Bat-Blog Reader, see any cool bat-merchandise while you're out cruising the stores then please let us know!

Ernest's Cool BATMAN LOGO & BATMOBILE Toy Collection!

OK, I have said it a million times & I totally mean it, I love to see other people's Batman Toy Collections! It's always a game of "I got that, I want that, where did he get that?", ha ha! Here are some pics sent in to us by a Bat-Blog Fan named Ernest. He says that his main focus are the Batmobile Cars & just about anything with the famous "Yellow Oval" Batman Symbol Logo. I gotta say that there are some very cool items here! Of course it's almost impossible to pick out a favorite item here because everything is so awesome but I have to say that I really love the HUGE Remote Control Batmobile Car! I remember when it came out & I couldn't afford it at the time. But, someday, IT WILL BE MINE! Another neat thing to mention are the 2 Custom Driving-Light Covers that Ernest made. They are those 2 "Flat Yellow Circles" with Bat-Symbols cut-out of them that you can see in the bottom-center of the very last photo. They were made to fit the large Driving Lights on the front of his truck! These must look pretty cool all lit-up. Ernest, ya gotta send us a photo of that! In the mean time, I wanna thank you for taking the time to shoot all these great pics. Plus, you have the start of an amazing Batman Collection, keep it up! I want to invite ALL Bat-Blog Readers to send us photos of your collection...show us what you got!

BATMAN TOY VEHICLES - Desktop Wallpaper Backgrounds

Hey Kids! Do you know what time it is? It's Wacky Wallpaper Wednesday! Yes, we post some cool FREE Batman-Themed Backgrounds every single Wednesday! Why? Because I'm totally insane, yeah! This week I thought we would go with a "Batman Toy Vehicle" motif. The 1st one is a Bat-Cycle Toy that was made in the 1970's. I like the fuzzy-grainy look of it & it does make a really neat background. Please give it a try! The next one is a Diorama Set-Up made with a Corgi Car Batmobile Toy & a very small Batman Figure. This toy car looks like the one drawn by Norm Breyfogle in the 1980's Batman comic books...sweet! I wanna thank the fans who sent these pics in & if YOU want any special Bat-Wallpaper next week then just let me know!

BATMAN'S CORGI BATMOBILE CARS THAT WERE NEVER MADE! Production Art for Unproduced Corgi Car Toys

Here are some pretty cool graphics sent in by our friend Steve. You might remember his "Corgi Batmobile Display Case" from a few days ago. He's really into the Corgi & Hot Wheels Batman cars & vehicles. These photos were from the 2006 Toy Fair. They're prototype pics of Batmobiles that Corgi Toys was thinking about making, but they ended up never producing them....major bummer! They look pretty cool! Thanks Steve.

Steve's Amazing BATMOBILE CAR COLLECTION ( Corgi & Hot Wheels )

I recently got an e-mail from a Bat-Blog Reader named Steve who wanted to share photos of his Batman Corgi Car & Mattel Hot Wheels Batmobile Collection. Oh man, now this special group of cars is pretty impressive and this Custom Display Case he had made is GREAT! It has a mirrored back, plus the bat-symbol logo & "Batmobile name" are shown on the top ( They are laser-cut mirrored acrylic stick-ons he found on ebay ). I wanna thank Steve for the wonderful pics, the cars are very cool displayed like this ...thank you! Now, here's a list of the cars in case some people wanna know:
