New Hot Wheels Batmobile Cars - 2010 Mexico Convention Exclusives

Here are some photos sent in by a Bat-Blog Reader who is collecting the Hot Wheels "2010 Mexico Convention" Cars ( Thanks Cam ). Basically, there was an event held in Mexico by Toy Collectors & Mattel sent some of their Designers who brought a ton of Exclusive Promo-Batmobile Cars. Here's a "Brave and The Bold" car with Mexican flag graphics, a VW Drag Bus with a mural painted on the side to create the illusion that the van is actually the 1966 Batmobile ( that one is pretty cool because it's kinda weird ), and, finally, another Chrome '66 Batmobile. It's crazy now how many different variations we have seen. In fact, here's a post we did awhile back with other Mexican Convention Batmobiles... Just click HERE!

BatDave Attacks The 1966 BATMOBILE Batman Car in New York City!!

Earlier this month ( October 2010 ) our good friend BATDAVE was lucky enough to go to the BIG APPLE COMIC CON in New York City. Here are just a few of the amazing photos he got of this very cool 1966 BATMOBILE Replica Car that was parked outside. Oh man, you know that people that day must have gone totally crazy, ha ha! The cool thing is that Dave got to actually sit in the car. Just look at the expression on his face, that explains everything! ( Dave - Thanks for sending these wonderful pics. Plus, I have never got to sit in this car yet ...so, I'm totally jealous, ha! )

Wacky Cosplay Fun Time at 2010 Comic Con International

Check out these extremely cool pics from our friends Josh & Jenn. This year they went to the Comic Con International in San Diego & they totally dressed-up for the occasion! Josh was Two-Face, Jenn was Poison Ivy, & their friends ( sorry, I don't know their names ) were Catwoman, Black Canary, & Batgirl ( or is she suppose to be Batwoman? ). Judging by the photos, it looks like they all had a total blast! These pics sort of crack me up because I know these people in real-life & it's a big surprise that they would go to this event, ha! But regardless, they all look really great in all their costumes. ( Thanks to Josh for sending the evidence ).

Harley Quinn Meets The JOKER, Mark Hamill

OK, I gotta admit, right now, that I am totally & completely super-jealous!! Why? Well, our friend Caroline got to meet Mark Hamill at this year's SD Comic Con, that's why! You might know him. He played the JOKER in Batman: The Animated Series. He also played the same character in the Batman: Arkham Asylum Video Game, among others. He also played a guy named Luke Skywalker in some movie called Star Wars, which I hear is excellent. Arrrgghh! Caroline, I'm so very very JEALOUS!! Ha Ha, actually it's really great that she got to meet him & I wanna thank her for allowing me to post this wonderful photo. Also, as a side-note, her Harley Quinn Make-Up and Costume is awesome!

DC Universe Batman Action Figure of the Gray Ghost!

Oh yeah, at this year's 2010 San Diego Comic Con there was a lot of news about brand-new Batman toys & action figures that will be coming out later this year but my favorite thing is the fact that Mattel, in their DC Universe line, will be coming out with "The Gray Ghost"! He was a character created during the TV run of Batman: The Animated Series & appeared in an episode called "Beware the Gray Ghost". It's one of my all time favorites! It was a really great story but the cool thing was that they got Adam West to do the voice acting for that character. It was really a big deal at the time. You know, to sort of have West come back to the "Batman world". Basically, the Gray Ghost was an old time TV series that a young Bruce Wayne, as a small child, loved to watch with his Father & it inspired him deeply. In fact, after becoming Batman, he used his memory of the floor design to the "Gray Ghost's Lair" to design the total look of the Batcave. In other words, the Gray Ghost was Batman's childhood hero. The story had some interesting angles like showing the life of the "Gray Ghost" actor in modern times & how he was always broke & having a hard time paying the rent. He thought he was a has-been, but all the while he never knew how important he was to so many people who grew up watching his show. It was a very heartwarming side-story, sort of a cautionary tale. Anyways, just check out the photo of the figure, it's AWESOME! Also, for fun I posted this video down below of a Fox TV promo for the "Beware the Gray Ghost" episode.

VIDEO - CBS NEWS Reports on BATMAN THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD at 2010 SDCC

Here's a CBS News video on the BATMAN: THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD panel at this year's 2010 San Diego Comic Con. We get to hear from Producers James Tucker and Michael Jelenic plus some of the amazing voice acting talent of Diedrich Bader ( Batman ) and John Di Maggio ( Aquaman ). The sad news is that, after the 3rd season is over, there won't be anymore episodes. But, once the show starts back up pretty soon there will be 28 more episodes so we'll still get to enjoy the show for quite awhile. Plus, even though Warner Bros is letting this series go ( which I don't know why, because it's very successful & many people love it ), there are rumors of a brand-new Batman cartoon that will be CGI. So, that's cool!

The Graphitti Designs company will have a special limited edition BATMAN: ARKHAM ASYLUM ( Video Game ) action figure in their booth, #2315. It's the BATTLE-DAMAGED BATMAN!! It's sort of a special pre-release, since it will come out before the next official wave of figures. Also, Warner Bros announced that they teamed up with SDCC to give away 125,000 special tote bags that will feature many of their different commercial properties. There will be 11 different designs so be sure to try & get the one with "Batman: The Brave and The Bold", pictured up above. In fact, if you can get an extra one to give me then I would love you forever, ha! The other 10 designs will be: The Big Bang Theory, Chuck, Fringe, Human Target, Nikita, The Vampire Diaries, The Looney Tunes Show, Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated, Clash of the Titans & Brightest Day. OK now, the Bat-Blog isn't going to SDCC this year ( because we're total losers ) but, like every year, we will try our best to keep you up to date on any new information about the event that is related to Batman. If you hear of any news please let us know.

Well, it looks like the DETECTIVE COMICS #27 recently auctioned off by Heritage Auction Galleries of Dallas, TX is now totally famous as being the world's most expensive auction price for a Golden Age Comic Book! Of course all Batman Fans know this issue to be the very 1st appearance of the Dark Knight in 1939. It sold for $1,075,000. Yes, you read that right, One Million Seventy Five Thousand Dollars!! Just 3 days prior to the Batman comic book selling so well a company called Comic Connect auctioned off a vintage issue of Superman ( Action Comics # 1 ) for 1 million. Then, Batman beat that record price by 75 thousand!!

Some Brand-New Batman "Hot Wheels" Merchandise Has Been Spotted!

Alright, Here's a news report from our Retail-News Reporter Batmobilly! It looks like he's been hitting a few stores lately. He tells us that at Toys-R-Us he saw the new wave of Hot Wheels Batmobile Cars, the cool 1:50 Scale. As an example the BATMISSLE from the Batman Returns movie is shown. Next is another diecast item from Mattel that even I didn't know existed yet. It's a Monster Jam "Monster Duo" Set. You get the Bat-Truck & a special Hot Wheels Car ( Sort of looks like the Vintage Movie version here ). I really like that car! The last photo is from Wal-Mart & he said he took the pic because getting these DVD movies for only 5 bucks each is a pretty good deal. That is, if you just need 1 of them. Actually they have bundled all 4 of these movies together in one set for around $10. But if you're just missing one of these then $5 is cool. Thanks Batmobilly for the great report! If YOU, the Bat-Blog Reader, see any cool bat-merchandise while you're out cruising the stores then please let us know!

Anybody who grew-up in the 1970's will totally remember 8" Mego Dolls & these are designed to be just like them...AWESOME!! I played with the original ones as a little kid! These are made by Mattel & in the 1st photo you can see the whole wave. There will be Superman, Sinistro, Green Arrow, Green Lantern, Aquaman, Lex Luthor, Black Mantis, Two-Face, & Batman/Bruce Wayne. TOY FAIR 2010 - Justice League Plush Dolls by Funco ( Batman )

More News from TOY FAIR 2010: OK, you know the toy company named FUNKO? They make those awesome Wacky Wobbler Nodders. I really love those things. Well, now they have another division in their company that makes cute Character Plush Dolls ( or Plushes ). They're doing the Wizard of OZ, Alice in Wonderland, & the Justice League of America! To get things started here are Batman, The Flash, Green Lantern, & Superman. Now this totally makes me wonder since they finally ( finally! ) got the right to do DC Comics comic book characters then maybe, just maybe, they might start to make a few Funko Bobblehead Nodders. That would be so awesome!!

So, if you live nearby, then this is your chance to meet him & maybe get a drawing or sketch of the Dark Knight. Now, another reason I mention this Boston Comic Book Convention is that they will also be giving away, as a door prize, an Original 1940's Golden Age Copy of BATMAN #1!! WOW! That would be extremely cool to win! I mean, I have wanted that iconic issue since I was about 12 years old, ha ha! For more information about this show be sure to visit their site by clicking HERE!
