OK, if you're hitting the Comic Book Shop today then you need to keep an eye out for this baby! This is the cover to the "DC Retroactive 1970's BATMAN #1" One-Shot. I love the old DC Comics logo, & speaking of that, I also love the 70's BATMAN logo too ( Click on the above graphic for a larger photo ). You see, these are the comic books I grew-up with & it's just nice to see them again. Of course back then they only cost 25 cents, "Holy Inflation, Batman!" This one-shot issue features both a brand new story and a classic story by Len Wein, originally published in the 1970s. It also features art by Tom Mandrake, John Calnan and Dick Giordano.

Our friend Christopher sent us this awesome photo of the brand-new BATMAN PEZ CANDY Dispenser he found at Toys R Us! Click on it for a larger, more detailed, photo. This is a part of the PEZ : JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA Set which also includes Superman & Green Lantern ( To see those toys just click HERE! ). Here's a cool video a friend sent us a link to. It's a basic presentation by a Mattel Spokeperson of some new IMAGINEXT DC SUPER FRIENDS TOYS coming out this year. These were presented at the last 2011 TOY FAIR. It looks like they're coming out with a brand-new multi-level Bat-Cave and a ton of new Batman Figures! Here, we get to see the Penguin & his Penguin-Sub, Another Batmobile Vehicle, Clayface, & Catwoman with her Cat-Cycle. Man, how many items are they making for this toy line? I'm gonna need 3 more jobs to buy all of this stuff, ha ha!
About 2 months ago, here at the Bat-Blog, we reported about the next new Batman PEZ that would be a part of the DC Comics' JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA Set. Back then we had a "prototype photo" & as it turns out it looks pretty much like the actual item. So, up above are some pictures of the real deal and we also get to see the PEZ Display-Box Header Card. There are three to collect: Superman, Green Lantern, & Batman! If these are not in your stores already they will be soon so please be sure to keep an eye out. I think these are pretty cool!
Here's a wonderful photo sent in by our good friend Batmobilly! He just came across this brand-new Batman Toy while surfing through the retail stores. Well, it looks like Fisher Price is still cranking out more Imaginext Bat-Vehicles for their DC SUPER FRIENDS line. Shown here is the BATBOAT!!
Check out these extremely cool characters in the Second Wave of 6" BATMAN LEGACY Action Figures by Mattel. We got: Golden Age Batman, Batgirl ( Love the black & yellow costume ), Catman, and Bat-Mite. Yes, Bat-Mite!! It's also cool that there's a Catman too, I mean, what an obscure reference! Plus, I'm really loving the vintage look of these brand-new toys... great stuff here! Now, these are not in stores right now but be sure to look for them later. Hey, the Bat-Blog will keep ya updated, ha!
This is sort of sad news for Toy Collectors out there. Mattel has decided to cancel the RETRO ACTION DC SUPER HEROES Toy Line. These are the brand-new 8" figures that were made to sort of be like the old vintage MEGO DOLLS from the 1970's. They're totally great toys, very very cool! Well, some Toy Collectors have got together & created a "SAVE THE RETRO LINE" Petition to try & get Mattel to continue making the figures. Basically, what they're saying to Mattel is, "If retail stores don't seem like a profitable solution, then consider making these Retro figures as exclusives on mattycollector.com or consider an annual subscription service." It's sort of a desperate attempt but I think if they got enough people involved then maybe it has a chance. So, if you love the Old Mego Dolls or enjoy collecting these new ones then please CLICK HERE & sign the petition. Every signature helps! Also, please be sure to tell all your friends about it too.
This isn't earth-shattering news but there are some Hot Wheels Collectors out there who will find this important. OK, you know the New 2011 Hot Wheels BATMAN: ARKHAM ASYLUM BATMOBILE Car that is out there? Well, it's been seen with variant packaging where one has the BATMAN: ARKHAM ASYLUM Logo on it. Now, the cars are exactly the same, it's just a variation on the package design. Mattel is sort of known for doing that kinda thing, ha! Personally I like this new one with the logo because it makes it more of a piece of Bat-Merchandise. ( Thanks Chris )
The Mezco Toy Company has announced a brand-new BATMAN MEGA SCALE MEZ-ITZ FIGURE that will be 18 Inches Tall! It's way bigger than previous versions ( 2" and 6" ) and will come in 2 color variations: Limited Edition Black and Gray and Ultra Rare Variant Limited Edition Blue and Grey ( I like the blue one the best ). He features a real cloth cape and 5 points of articulation. Now, before you fall in love, the retail price will be around $200.00, OUCH! This new toy will premiere at the world famous San Diego Comic Con ( 2011 SDCC ) but will also be available at the Official MEZCO Website, click HERE!

DC Direct just announced a brand-new BATMAN Statue that will be coming out later this year. It's a Maquette Figure based on the BATMAN: YEAR ONE character from the DC Universe Animated Original Movie DVD. Oh man, it's beautiful! I like the retro-style. It was sculpted by DEREK MILLER. This hand-painted, cold-cast porcelain Maquette-Statue of BATMAN will be released on September 27th, 2011. It will measure about 9.8" high x 7.75" wide x 5" deep. Also, it's a Limited Edition. OK, I decided the other day to go hit Wal-Mart & see what kind of Batman items I could find. If you're a Serious Bat-Collector then you know it's been really really dry lately. But that's cool because it allows us time to save a little money for stuff later, ha ha! But anyway, the trip to the famous retail store was kinda lame. The only new things I found were some Kid's T-Shirts ( Most of them have a LEGO BATMAN theme which is pretty cool ) & that's usually not something that I personally buy ( in fact, I didn't ). But, when I got to their "Seasonal Area", they were doing a "Summer Time - July 4th Theme" & they had this extremely awesome BATMAN 5 Foot long BEACH TOWEL! Oh man, the graphics are beautiful and it's the "comic book version" of Batman. The quality is really nice too & the thing is only 10 bucks, can't beat that! But if ya want one you better hurry because it's the very best selling one in the bunch. I mean, don't get stuck with Disney's Little Mermaid, ha! one last thing, if ANY Bat-Blog Fan out there sees ANY new Batman items, no matter what they are, then please let us know so we can share... The BATMAN: THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD McDonald's Happy Meal Toys came out the other day & I've been so busy the last few days that I have not been able to go see what they look like. Now, when you buy a Kid's Meal there you get 3 small figures or maybe 2 small figures & a vehicle. Here are the ones Batmobilly got: The Penguin, Batman, & the Batmobile!! I think these are pretty cool & I seriously plan on hitting this restaurant tonight. Oh yeah, as a side-note: If you don't want to gag-down their food ( ha ha ) THEY DO SELL the toys separately. Just ask them. In fact, if you can find a cool Restaurant Manager he will build a complete set for you. But personally, I love their Cheeseburgers so I usually get the food, ha ha!
Here's a promotional photo we just got from DC Direct. This is the beautiful BATMAN: ARKHAM ASYLUM Statue. It's a part of the "Batman: Black and White Statue" Series. It was sculpted by Dave Cortes. This statue's image is based on the video game design. It measures approximately 7 1/4" high x 6 1/4" wide x 4 3/4" deep, is painted in monochromatic tones, features a Bat-logo-shaped base and is packaged in a black and white box. On March 15th, which is today, Warner Bros is releasing BATMAN: THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD Season One, Part Two on DVD! The cool thing, it's a 2-Disc DVD Set! So please be sure to watch for it soon. Shown up above is the original box art. Then, down below is a BATMAN DVD Wallpaper you can use as a background on your PC. You know, to help remind you about this new volume. Plus, the artwork is really cool.This brand-new BATMAN DVD Set features the show's final 13 Animated Adventures in Season One.
