Check out this amazing "JACK NICHOLSON JOKER" Sculpture Bust! It's crazy-good!! This pic was sent in by a Bat-Blog Fan named Pete Arico and this is one of his first statues he made! Pete is trying to get into the Sculpture Business & is a totally Self-Taught Artist. Well, it only took me 1 micro-second to recognize that this is Jack Nicholson from the 1989 BATMAN Movie...So, that's a great start! This piece really captures the essence of the character, from the costume, all the way to that famous smile. Thanks for sharing this cool pic Pete & keep up the good work!

OK, right off the bat I gotta say, "I'm sorry for the delay!" I was going to list the lucky winner of the recent Bat-Blog Contest last night but I feel asleep & slept for almost 10 hours, seriously! I have been sleeping extremely erratic hours lately & was totally exhausted. I feel a lot better now, ha ha! Now it's 5:30 am & I'm awake. Yes, bummer. But this is the "Official Contest Winner Announcement", I promise. First of all I wanna thank our good friend THE BATFAN for donating this statue for the contest. You have to admit that's a very generous thing he did. So, thank you very much to THE BATFAN! Second, I wanna thank everybody who entered. This was one of the most successful contests we have ever had, many many many people entered! OK, I have had the name of the winner for at least a day now. The other night, at midnight, I pulled a random number out of a hat & checked the list of entries to find that Michael I. of Huntington Beach, CA is the lucky winner! Michael, you're gonna totally love this Special BATMAN STATUE BUST, it's AWESOME! Please contact me to confirm that we have the correct mailing address & I'll get this baby out to you soon. For everybody else, please be sure to stay tuned to the Bat-Blog because we'll have another contest coming up that you will not want to miss.
YES Boys & Girls! It's time again for a World Famous Bat-Blog Contest where this time the prize we're giving away is an incredible BATMAN BUST Statue from the HEROES OF THE DC UNIVERSE Collection ( it's the 2nd piece to the series )! Oh man, it's so beautiful! Seriously, when I opened the box I was kind of shocked by how nice this thing actually is ( photos don't do it justice ). The details are really insane. You can see "wrinkles" in Batman's Bat-Suit Costume that look very realistic. The base of the statue is meant to look like Gotham City's Dark Knight is perched on a rooftop, near a Gargoyle, & that part looks like it is actually stone & brick material. This hand-painted, cold-cast porcelain bust measures approximately 6" high x 3 1/4" wide x 4 1/2" deep and is packaged in a 4-color box. Overall, the whole thing is very highly detailed. Batman is holding his Bat-a-rang & it looks very real too. The rope is actually a very thick wire & looks kinda neat. Also, the paint job on this baby is really great... the colors are extremely accurate! I could go on & on about how wonderful it is but if you win you'll see. Now, how to enter. You must email us your Full Name & Address. You can only enter once & you must also put "BAT-BLOG CONTEST : BATMAN BUST #1" in the title of your email. The contest will go on until April 6th, 2010 & will close at 12:00 midnight ( Central Time ). Then, the very next day, the lucky winner will be announced right here on this website. So see, it's pretty easy! Just send us your full name & address plus put the right title in the email. Now, the most important thing about this message is that this contest was made possible by the extremely super-generous donation of a Bat-Blog Reader nicknamed BATFAN! He sent this to us knowing that many other Batman Fans would totally love this thing. He's right! This statue is very impressive. So, thank you very very very much to BATFAN, I really appreciate your patronage... you're GREAT!!

OK, I saw this on the web recently & had to totally show it off because Chuck is a friend & an amazing artist! Here is a small BUST STATUE of BATMAN done in a Retro -Vintage style. It's made to look kind of like the old comic book art from the past. Plus, it's modeled after the 1966 Adam West TV version of the character. Personally, I think this thing is incredibly well done & a Total Masterpiece! It's shown here in 3 versions: Painted & two done in Raw Colors. The 2 colors are PALE GRAY, which makes it look like a fine art statue & brings out a lot of details. Then there is BLUE, which is sort of translucent a little bit & totally reminds me of those MARX TOY Action Figures made in the 1960's. Actually all 3 are really great & if I had to pick a favorite one it would be way too hard to decide. But really, now that I think about it, the painted version is the winner!
In honor of DC Comics' 75th Anniversary, Michael Keaton's quintessential portrayal of Batman is presented in art bust form by DC Direct. From the ground-breaking, 1989 Warner Bros blockbuster movie BATMAN, Michael Keaton as Batman is poised for action as he prepares to throw his trademark Batarang. With a Gothic-inspired base, the design is reminiscent of the architectural vision of designer Anton Furst's Academy Award-winning Gotham City. The MICHAEL KEATON AS BATMAN BUST is hand-painted, cold-cast in porcelain, measures approximately 5.75" high x 5.5" wide x 4.5" deep and is packaged in a 4-color box. The retail price will be about $ 80.00 US & it goes on sale September 15th, 2010. Remember, you can pre-order it & save 20% off by clicking the link button down below:
It seems our friends Dallas & Daria are really getting into the Holiday Spirit this year! They decorated a few Batman, Joker, & Catwoman Statues with Christmas wreaths. The funny thing is the expression on Batman's face makes him look like he's not too happy with the whole idea, ha ha! But, overall, the 3 busts look pretty cool & I thought the picture would make a great Christmas Card image ( Thanks to Dallas for sending us the funny pic ).
HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYBODY!!!
Awhile back, here at the Bat-Blog, we reported about the now-famous ADAM WEST Statue Bust made by the Masked Avenger Studios. Well, now we are proud to announce the 2nd statue in the "Really Retro" series, BURT WARD! Of course we all know him as the actor who played Robin, The Boy Wonder in the classic 1966 Batman TV Show! It will be approx. 9" tall & will be limited to 250 pieces. 100 of the busts will be a special version with "red & yellow" clothing. Shown here is the prototype drawing & if we know this company then the finished piece will be totally amazing...they make great ART!

Here's some new photos just released from a company called HOT TOYS. They will be making these two 1/4 Scale Statue Busts of The Joker & The Dark Knight! They will be approx. 9 1/2" Tall & the release date is scheduled for late June or early July, right around the time of the movie. The one of the Joker is extremely detailed & I think it captures "Heath Ledger's essence" pretty good. What do you think about them? Please comment down below & let us know what you think. People, there are gonna be a TON of products for this movie. I might have to get a 2nd job, ha ha!
