New DC UNIVERSE ONLINE Statue - The JOKER

Here's a brand-new statue from DC Direct of THE JOKER as he appears in the new DC UNIVERSE ONLINE Video Game. I like that they went with a "classic comic book" version of the character, "The Clown Prince of Crime!" It's based on the artwork of Jim Lee. This statue will be hand-painted, cold-cast in porcelain and measure approximately 7.6" high x 5 1/4" wide x 2 1/5" deep. It will also be a Limited Edition piece. The retail price will be around $ 90.00 & it goes on sale near November 16th, 2011.

I always crack-up every time I see Harley Quinn with her giant-mallet hammer, ha! It's Classic! It will be a Limited Edition Statue, with an estimated retail price of $90.00, and will go on sale around November 16th, 2011.

New DC UNIVERSE ONLINE STATUES - Batman and Catwoman

OK, Since the Bat-Blog is ALL about the Dark Knight I'm just posting photos of the Batman-related statues, Batman and Catwoman. But before I get ahead of myself, here's the deal. For 2011 DC Direct is coming out with a huge set of statues to celebrate the entire DC UNIVERSE ONLINE Video Game world. They measure approx. 7 1/2" tall & are cold-cast porcelain. They're also based on the comic book art of Jim Lee. So far there are 10 statues planned to be released in small waves during 2011 but I think they will add even more once the video game becomes very popular. Who are the characters made so far? You have Batman, Catwoman, Black Canary, Green Arrow, Green Lantern, Solomon Grundy, Superman, The Flash, Wonder Woman, and Zatanna! Video - DC UNIVERSE ONLINE Video Game Footage

Today, January 11th, 2011 ( 1-11-11 ) is the day that DC UNIVERSE ONLINE opens up so I thought I would post this nice instructional video from Gamespot. It shows how you create a character & begin the game. It also has a lot of tips on how to use weapons & get around the environment. Also, It looks like you're going to have to have a pretty powerful computer to play. Check out this "System Requirement" list:

I'm proud to say that this week's "Batman Wallpapers" were submitted by Bat-Blog Fans, Yes! The 1st one was sent-in by our friend Gary & he said that he made it using promo art for the new DC UNIVERSE ONLINE Video Game, that's cool because it's very modern. The next one has sort of a vintage retro-style. Mainly because it uses comic book artwork that was originally done by Paul Gulacy. Also, it was made by a guy named Michael, he did a great job on it. I wanna thank both of them for sending these in. I always appreciate when fans of the site get involved, that's cool! Both of these backgrounds are totally wonderful.

This is just a quick post to show some eye-candy from the brand-new DC UNIVERSE ONLINE Video Game. These pics mainly show "Joker location" scenes with the Clown Prince of Crime, Harley Quinn, & Batman. One is the lobby is at the "Regal Hotel" and another one is inside the "Fun House". Also, the 1st pic is the box art for the packaging...nice! This game might be coming out sometime in November. That would be cool because it would be a great Christmas gift! ( Hint Hint )

DC UNIVERSE ONLINE STATUES: BATMAN & CATWOMAN Based on the Art of JIM LEE

Well, it looks like DC Direct is going to release a few statues to capitalize on the popularity of it's new multi-player video game titled DC UNIVERSE ONLINE. Now, for people who have not heard of this game it's going to be a lot like "World of Warcraft" where you can become any DC Comics Comic Book Character & then enter the DC Universe ( Batman's Gotham City, Superman's Metropolis, & other famous places ). It's been totally art directed by Jim Lee so you know it will look extremely cool! In fact, he's the artist who designed each statue here: Batman & Catwoman! They are both a hand-painted, cold-cast porcelain figure measuring a little over 7" tall & will be packaged in a 4-color box. The release date is November 17th, 2010 so be sure to keep an eye out for them...MEOW!

Sony Announces MR. FREEZE Villain For DC UNIVERSE ONLINE Video Game

Sony Entertainment just sent the following Press Release for their new DC UNIVERSE ONLINE Video Game ( with DC Comics ) & it's AWESOME news:

Victor Fries devoted his life to the hopeless task of curing his beloved wife, Nora from a fatal disease. He keeps her body frozen in suspended animation hoping that one day his experiments will cure her. One such experiment exposed him to a hail of super-coolants that altered his body chemistry. In order to survive, the brilliant cryogenicist must now be encased in his supercooled suit whenever the outside temperature is above sub-zero.

Although Batman offered to help Victor Fries, now known as Mr. Freeze, he refused because he was convinced that his own failures to save his wife are the fault of Gotham's Dark Knight. Armed with his Freeze Gun, Mr. Freeze partners with other criminals to steal the money he needs for his experiments and diamonds to power his freeze suit.

There's a new video game coming out later called DC UNIVERSE ONLINE that looks like it's going to be very cool! Of course the art direction is being lead by Jim Lee, a famous Batman Comic Book Artist, so that says a lot! The thing that's driving everybody crazy though is that there is absolutely NO release date yet! But, rest assured that as soon as we find out the Bat-Blog will let you know. For those who have never heard of the game it's a lot like "World of Warcraft" where you play online, become a character ( good or bad ), & roam around well-designed enviroments doing stuff.
