Here are some BATMAN TOYS Wallpaper Backgrounds I made using some photos I found of some recently made ( 2003 ) Batman Collectibles. These Kubrick-styled Batman figures were made by a toy company in Japan called Medicom. Series one included: Batman, Robin, Batgirl, Azrael, Mr. Freeze, and Scarecrow. I thought these pics were kinda fun & the images might be interesting for backgrounds... so, please give one or two of them a test!
If you're a brand-new reader of the Bat-Blog then I want to say, "Welcome & thank you for finding us!" Also, please remember that we post a few new BATMAN Wallpaper Backgrounds every Wednesday. We call it "Wacky Wallpaper Wednesday!" This week we have a few that are kind of crazy. The 1st one is the Monster Jam Batmobile. This custom car is extremely cool to see in person. It's way bigger than you would think it is... it's HUGE! The next background is the Batman Villain, The SCARECROW! This graphic image is a promo-shot from the DC UNIVERSE ONLINE Video Game. The cool thing about making this wallpaper is it looks like he is trying to grab your desktop icons, ha!
Here's a total blast from the past! This is the official TV Commercial for the BATMAN: THE ANIMATED SERIES Kenner Action Figures ( 1993 ). It features 2 characters & one vehicle. The figures shown are INFRARED BATMAN and The SCARECROW. Then we get to see the BAT-SIGNAL JET. Also, be sure to check out some photos of the actual toys. These bring back a lot of fond memories for me because I totally loved that cartoon. It is a great TV show & all the toys were awesome!
The Bat-Blog is pretty famous for celebrating creativity, in any form, but this photo is just totally amazing! I actually love old quilts as an American art form. But this modern-day one is just really great! It's titled "ARKHAM ASYLUM". Besides Batman, Robin, & a few versions of Batgirl, we also get to enjoy many images of some major villains: Poison Ivy, Bane, the Penguin, Two-Face, Scarecrow, Harley Quinn, Killer Croc, and many more. Please be sure to click on the photo for a much larger picture. The details are beautiful! ( Thank you Debra for sending this pic )
Check out these photos of some extremely cool Batman merchandise. Here are 2 brand-new BATMAN BEGINS Exclusive Collectible Figures made by HOT TOYS. Yes, you read that right, "Batman Begins" the movie. These were made to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the HOT TOYS company. What we get are 2 amazing figures, BATMAN DEMON & The SCARECROW. Like all figures made by this company the details of the product are totally insane! Plus, I should mention that the Scarecrow figure comes with 2 different outfits, both shown here.
Here are some brand new images from the DC UNIVERSE ONLINE Video Game showing one of Batman's scariest villains, The Scarecrow! The cool thing too is that you also get to see Batwoman & she looks awesome! Wow, this game just keeps looking better all the time.
OK, For "Wacky Wallpaper Wednesday" I thought I would go with a Batman theme that celebrates ART. The 1st background was made using a drawing submitted by our friend Drew. Yes, he drew this amazing piece of art showing all our favorite Batman Villains! You got: The Joker, Catwoman, Scarecrow, Man-Bat, Two-Face, Clayface, Riddler, Poison ivy, The Penguin, Mr. Freeze, & Killer Croc!! Whew, that's a lot of evil right there! Thanks to Drew for sending us this pic, he did a great job on it. The next wallpaper is a photo sent in by our friend Michael. He saw this thing in the front yard of a sculptor in California. I've featured this on the Bat-Blog before. It's sort of a famous landmark in CA. Anyways, I have always loved this piece of art, it's very clever, & I thought it would be kind of fun ( Thanks Mike ). So, there you go. Here is this week's wallpapers! Now, remember that we have hundreds more at the Bat-Blog. All ya gotta do is dig through our BAT-ARCHIVES ( which are located on the left side of this page, near the middle ) to see them all or click the button down below for the 30+ most recent.
The Bat-Blog was recently blessed with not one, but two, amazing photos of some really great Batman-themed Tattoo Art. So, in advance, I wanna thank both readers for sending these in. The 1st one is a BATMAN tattoo inspired by the comic book artwork of Jim Lee. It was sent in by our friend Jeff. It's really well done & the "lightning in the sky" background is a nice touch. The next one was sent in by our buddy Sydney. It's really great too & features a fan-favorite villain, Dr. Crane A.K.A. The Scarecrow! This artwork was inspired by original graphic art by Mike Mignola from the collected "Scarecrow Tales" book. WOW! They're both really great bat-tats!! Now, if any other Bat-Blog Fans out there get any ink done then please shoot us a pic!
Over at the MattyCollector website they're hyping the fact that in a few days, on March 15th, 2010, a Special SCARECROW Action Figure from THE DARK KNIGHT Batman Movie Franchise will be made available! Personally, I think it looks pretty cool! It is sculpted by The Four Horsemen. It features full articulation and comes with a cloth version of his mask. Available first at the Official Mattel website at 12 Noon Eastern on March 15th, 2010. Then, Toys “R” Us in spring 2010. Overall, They have done a really good job on this entire toy line of action figures. If you want more information about this SCARECROW FIGURE ( like, where to buy it ) then just click HERE!
Shown up above are a few panels of Batman-related artwork created by a very talented Graphic Artist named Ted Naifeh. Ted's plan is to pitch a new Batman Book idea to DC Comics. You see, he has taken the Batman Universe & sort-of recreated it in his own unique style. Most of the characters are easily recognizable like: Scarecrow, The Penguin, Catwoman, The Mad Hatter, & so on but they're also just a "little different". He's been working on this concept for awhile & has created a ton of cool pencil sketches & inked drawings to back-up his idea. If you visit his website there is way more art to enjoy: The Joker, Batwoman, Robin, Batgirl, etc... It's gonna be interesting to see how this project comes along. So, if you wanna see more of Ted Naifeh's Graphic Art, & also keep up to date with what is going on, then please be sure to visit his website by clicking HERE!
Over at the Professor Plastik website they have a ton of very cool BATMAN PAPER CRAFT MODEL KIT ACTION FIGURES you can download & create...for FREE! Shown here are The Dynamic Duo, Batman & Robin! They also have a lot of wonderful Super-Villains too! As an example I am only showing The Joker & Riddler, but they also have: The Scarecrow, Dr. Hugo Strange, Two-Face, & Clayface. Now, keep in mind that these are the "Golden Age" versions like the characters existed in the 1940's. Personally, I think they are total works of ART! For more information, & the location where you download the PDF files, be sure to click HERE!
In Argentina, in 1978 & '79, DC Comics teamed up with Pepsi-Cola for a very cool DC SUPER HERO Promotion! They had special Super Hero Bottle Caps placed on their Pepsi Soda Pop Bottles with very cool graphics of a comic book hero or villain. Quite a few of them were Batman-related so that's what you see in the 1st photo, click on it for a larger version. They made ones for Batman, Robin, Commissioner Gordon ( Comisionado Gordon ), Batgirl ( Batichica ), Bruce Wayne ( Bruno Diaz ), The Joker, The Riddler ( El Acertijo ), The Penguin ( Pinguino ), Catwoman ( Gatubela ), Ra's Al Ghul ( Ragul ), & The Scarecrow ( El Espantapajaros ). The next two photos show a special in-store Paper Place Mat that contained a "Collector Board" on one side ( in color ) & a "Checker Game" on the other. These photos also show the other Bottle Caps of Superman, Aquaman, Green Lantern, Wonder Woman, Supergirl, Flash, etc...so be sure to click on one of those to see them! I gotta say that I am totally loving the vintage graphics on all of this stuff, great stock art! The last photo is a super close-up of the BATICHICA Bottle Cap. I really love the sound of that word, Batichica! Speaking of her, these photos were all sent in by our good friend Milotik who lives in Argentina ( Thank You! ). These DC Comics Bottle Caps are a part of his amazing Batgirl Toy Collection. You see, Milotik's main collecting focus is on her & that's very cool. He has some very neat stuff, some of it extremely RARE! He even has a great website where he shares his collectable adventures called EL BLOG DE BATGIRL which you can visit by clicking HERE!
Earlier today I received a very nice letter from a guy named Johan who lives all the way in South Africa. He said he went to a club the other night called AQUA. The club was having their annual Halloween Party & a few people dressed-up in costume because there was a contest going on. Johan got his picture taken with the 2 guys who got 1st & 2nd place. One guy was Rorschach, from the WATCHMEN Graphic Novel & Movie. He came in second place. But the cool thing is that the Scarecrow, who recently escaped from Arkham Asylum, won First Place!! Thank you Johan for sending the wonderful photo. These are really great costumes & it looks like it was a very fun event! Plus, I'm glad that Batman is so popular there, that's very cool.
Most Bat-Blog Readers are very creative, intelligent, artistic people & some others are complete idiots, ha ha! But this post is about one of the creative ones! Here's some pics sent in by our friend Joey who, Halloween 2009, made a Scarecrow Costume...an incredibly AWESOME Scarecrow Costume! He took his inspiration from the character that appeared in the new BATMAN: ARKHAM ASYLUM Video Game. For people who have not played this game yet, & don't know what he looks like, I added a photo ( last one ) showing him. I reason I did that was because you have to see how amazing this costume really is! It's just totally great & a very good likeness. Well done Joey & thank for sending the photos. Now, I know Halloween is over & we're gonna be winding down our coverage, but a lot of people didn't get dressed-up until the actual night so we might get a few more pics. The holiday here has been pretty fun this year & I want to thank everybody who got involved. All of the "Costume Photos" this year have been totally insane, every single one of them. We even got a few pics of some homemade Batman Jack O' Lantern Pumpkins that were cool too. Anyways, I appreciate it a lot & hope everybody has had a Safe & Happy Halloween this year!
OK, It seems that this year everybody is going totally wacky over Halloween! Here at the Bat-Blog we have been getting a lot of photos, both new & vintage, where people have been showing us their Batman-related costumes. That has been really wonderful ( thanks again everybody & keep them coming ). Also, since the actual holiday is getting closer, we are starting to get pictures of Batman Jack O' Lantern Pumpkins, that's great too! But THIS photo was really kind of a surprise. A good friend to the Bat-Blog, nicknamed "BatmiteReturns", send us this funny photo of a set of Batman & Robin Scarecrows he recently saw. He wrote,
My family and I went to a pumpkin patch over the weekend and inside was a real life Batman & Robin scarecrow. I've never seen anything like it before. Of course I had to snap a picture of it!
Later he added how shocked he was to see it at such an unusual place & he made the observation that there was sort of a big irony here because "The Scarecrow persona" is also an evil villain in the Batman Universe. I thought the same thing, ha ha! But I wanna thank him for sending the photo, it's great! I think they actually did a pretty good job on it. For everybody else, if you have ANY Batman Halloween pictures to share then please do. Let's make this year's holiday a total event!
"YOU WILL KNOW FEAR!" The Bat-Blog has a friend over at MySpace who created a Halloween Costume of The SCARECROW that is pretty amazing! I think it's meant to be the Batman comic book version but it also looks a lot like the character in The Dark Knight movie too. Either way, it's pretty GREAT! Now, he wore this last year but recently he upgraded the robe & added a few accessories. My favorite part of the whole thing, of course, is the cool mask he made. It looks really scary!! Thanks Gary for sharing your pics. People are gonna really love it. Hey Readers! Are you getting dressed-up as a Batman character this year or have you been one in the past? Well, if so, then please send us a photo.
A Bat-Blog Fan named Chris sent these pics to us recently. He just bought this set of 3 GOTHAM KNIGHT Batman Movie Action Figures from the DC Universe animated film that came out last year. The 3 characters he got were Batman, Scarecrow, & Deadshot. I know a lot of you have probably seen this movie by now, but if not, it's totally worth a look. It was actually pretty cool! I loved how they portrayed the Scarecrow in this film. He looked completely insane & sort of reminded me of the shape of an insect, very strange. The story with Deadshot was pretty cool too with it ending in a Subway Tunnel. That sequence had a lot of interesting visual effects added to it. Whoops! Sorry, back to the figures. Thanks Chris for sending these pics. I remember covering them when they came out but I posted official production photos from the toy company & these are actually better because they are the real deal! I actually don't have these... but now I'll have to get a set, they're great.
Eidos Games released the brand-new BATMAN: ARKHAM ASYLUM Video Game on August 25th & people are still going crazy! All the reports that I have been getting so far are saying that this is the BEST Batman and/or Superhero Franchise game yet!!
