OK, I have not been able to totally confirm these yet but here's a photo of what might be the 4 special Hallmark Keepsake Ornaments for this year's 2011 San Diego Comic-Con International. The event happens July 21st - 24th, 2011. We have Batman "Descending Upon Gotham", IG-88 & Dengar from Star Wars ( Sold as a Set ), and The Comic Book Guy from The Simpsons. Now, this Batman Keepsake Ornament has been released before in 2009 with the Silver-Age "Blue, Gray, & Yellow" colors ( You can see it by clicking HERE!). It looks like this new one is a color variation, a more Modern Day "Black & Gray" version. For more information about the show please visit Comic-Con.org
The Los Angeles County Museum of Art will present Tim Burton, a major retrospective exploring the full range of Tim Burton's creative work, both as a director of live-action and animated films, and as an artist, illustrator, photographer, and writer. Showcased here are just a few of the "Batman Items" that will be present. We got an original Batman Cowl from a Batman Movie, plus some Costume Design Drawings of both the Penguin & Catwoman from "Batman Returns" and one of The Joker ( Jack Nicholson ) from 1989's BATMAN. Plus, you know there will be much much more! Wow! It looks like a great show!
It will be on view at LACMA from May 29th ( This Sunday! ) through October 31st, 2011, the exhibition brings together over 700 drawings, paintings, photographs, moving-image works, storyboards, puppets, concept artworks, maquettes, costumes, and cinematic ephemera, including art from a number of unrealized and little-known personal projects. Many of these objects come from the artist's own archive, as well as from studio archives and private collections of Burton's collaborators.

Are you going to the 2010 San Diego Comic Con this year? Well, here's a couple of Batman items to keep an eye out for. The Graphitti Designs company will have a special limited edition BATMAN: ARKHAM ASYLUM ( Video Game ) action figure in their booth, #2315. It's the BATTLE-DAMAGED BATMAN!! It's sort of a special pre-release, since it will come out before the next official wave of figures. Also, Warner Bros announced that they teamed up with SDCC to give away 125,000 special tote bags that will feature many of their different commercial properties. There will be 11 different designs so be sure to try & get the one with "Batman: The Brave and The Bold", pictured up above. In fact, if you can get an extra one to give me then I would love you forever, ha! The other 10 designs will be: The Big Bang Theory, Chuck, Fringe, Human Target, Nikita, The Vampire Diaries, The Looney Tunes Show, Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated, Clash of the Titans & Brightest Day. OK now, the Bat-Blog isn't going to SDCC this year ( because we're total losers ) but, like every year, we will try our best to keep you up to date on any new information about the event that is related to Batman. If you hear of any news please let us know.
This photo is pretty funny! It was sent in by our Good Friend Guenter who lives in Germany. The photo is of his lovely Daughter who recently visited California. While there she ran into these 3 costumed heroes. Well, actually two superheroes & one villain, ha ha! Here we get to see Batman ( Sort of a 1989 Movie version ), Batgirl ( Cassandra Cain - Comic Book Style ), & the Joker ( Heath Ledger from The Dark Knight movie ). Thanks to Guenter & his pretty Daughter for allowing us to publish this cool pic...you guys ROCK!
OK, I thought I would post this early so people could have enough time to save money or make plans. Batman Fans are in for a rare treat next April in California! Wizard World's "Anaheim Comic Con" will have 4 actors from the 1966 Batman TV Show. Be prepared to meet Adam West, Burt Ward, Yvonne Craig, & Julie Newmar! Of course we all know them as Batman, Robin The Boy Wonder, Batgirl, & Catwoman!! Now, Ward & Craig have come out of retirement to do this show so it might be your last chance to meet them both. The convention event will be on April 16-18, 2010 ( Fri-Sat-Sun ). For more information be sure to click HERE!
Here's a very fun video that tells you how to get to the original Bat-Cave location in California. It was done by a good friend of mine named Scott. I was kind of impressed with how well done it was. Anyway we all know the famous scene in the 1966 Batman TV Show when the Batmobile roars out of the Bat-Cave ( Atomic batteries to power, turbines to speed...). Well, this cave he takes you to is the exact location they filmed that classic piece of bat-history! It's called the Bronson Cave & is located in Hollywood, CA. For anyone who lives in California, or on vacation, I highly recommend visiting this landmark, it's kinda neat! Scott's directions are very clear & precise. So, go check out the BAT-CAVE!! Also, if any readers here go visit please send us some photos or share your story...thanks.
