HARLEY QUINN & BAT-MITE BATMAN BACKGROUNDS - Wacky Wallpaper Wednesday!

Every Wednesday, here at the BAT-BLOG.COM, we have what we call "Wacky Wallpaper Wednesday". This week we thought we would post some extremely BATMAN Backgrounds that are extremely WACKY! The 1st one features a great photo of some cute girl wearing a HARLEY QUINN Costume. It's a cosplay photo from the last Philadelphia Comic Con. Yes, she looks kinda crazy, ha ha! The 2nd Wallpaper is a photo of a BAT-MITE Pinback Button that was a promotional item from DC Comics. It's not as wacky as the 1st one but he is a crazy character, so, enjoy.

Our friend BatDave hit the recent 2011 Philadelphia Comic Con & guess who he saw? Batgirl, Robin, & the Joker! BATMAN CHARACTER COSPLAY - Supanova Expo in Sydney, Australia ( June 2011 )

This is a quick post to share some extremely fun photos sent in to us by a Bat-Blog Fan who was lucky enough to go to the Supanova Expo in Sydney, Australia this month. He took some nice pics & it looks like everybody had a good time. Hey, just check out these great costumes! BATMAN COSPLAY & VINTAGE 80's TOYS - Wacky Wallpaper Wednesday!

This week's "Wacky Wallpaper Wednesday" is made-up of some Batman Backgrounds sent in by two very cool Bat-Blog Fans! The 1st one features a group of Batman Cos-Players in New Jersey known as "The BatSquad!" In costume, we see Batman, Batgirl, Catwoman and Robin... Now, that's serious fandom! The next pic was a photo shot by our friend Stephen of SMJART.COM. These are some older vintage Batman toys from around 1989. I think they were made to capitalize on the Tim Burton BATMAN movie craze. I remember these, they're great! They were very BIG Vinyl Figures of Batman, Robin, & Joker made by a toy company called Applause. The cool thing was that they went with a "retro comic book" look. ( I have the 2 Crime Fighters but I'm missing the Villain, ha ha! ) Now, when I say "BIG", they were around 13" tall, maybe a little bigger, & came with a display stand to hold them up. So, what do you think about these wallpapers? Love them? Hate them? I think they're kinda fun & I wanna thank the people who submitted them.

BATMAN COSTUMES At The 2010 NYC Big Apple Comic Con!

I have been getting a few emails the last few days from our good buddy BatDave. Last week he went to the NYC Big Apple 2010 Comic Con in New York City ( Manhattan ). While there he got some extremely cool photos to share. So many in fact that I plan to spread them out a little bit. The Actors from the 1966 BATMAN TV Show were there, Adam West & Burt Ward, & he got some great pics of them. The '66 Batmobile car was there too & you can look forward to seeing it later on as well. But for right now, in this 1st wave, we get to see a few Cosplay people who all have totally amazing Batman-themed costumes. The 1st one is a 1970's retro-style costume, very cool! The others include a very cute Batgirl, a Batman Beyond Bat-Suit, a Custom Batman Suit ( very creative ), & even Deathstroke! This is probably one of the most fun things that happen at a comic book convention nowadays. You walk around the corner & BAMM!, there's the Caped Crusader, ha ha! I wanna thank BatDave for sending all the great pics because I know every Bat-Blog Fan will get a total kick out of them!

Mark's DRAGON CON Batman Adventure!

OK, I gotta admit that I'm a little jealous here over the fact that our friend Mark got to go to the last Dragon Con ( a Comic Book Convention in Atlanta, Georgia ) & here's the photographic proof, ha! While there he saw a beautiful Harley Quinn Cosplayer, a very cool 1966 Batmobile Replica Car, & he almost got his throat cut by The Joker! He also got to meet some amazing Batman Comic book Artists: Kelley Jones, Neal Adams, and Tommy Castillo ( wearing the hat ). Yeah, like I said...JEALOUS!! ( Thanks Mark for sending the cool pix ).

BATMAN COSTUMES - Cosplay From Dragon Con 2010

A friend to the BAT-BLOG, named Stephen, was lucky enough to get to go to the DRAGON CON Comic Book Convention this year & he sent us these wonderful photos showing some of the cosplay people. The costumes are really great!! Shown here are Batman, Batgirl, Catwoman, The Penguin, The Joker, & Green Arrow! Some are like the 1960's TV Show, while others are more Silver Age or Modern...I'm lovin' it! Seeing all these characters walking around has got to be the best part of going to one of these events, ha! ( Thanks Stephen )

Wacky Cosplay Fun Time at 2010 Comic Con International

Check out these extremely cool pics from our friends Josh & Jenn. This year they went to the Comic Con International in San Diego & they totally dressed-up for the occasion! Josh was Two-Face, Jenn was Poison Ivy, & their friends ( sorry, I don't know their names ) were Catwoman, Black Canary, & Batgirl ( or is she suppose to be Batwoman? ). Judging by the photos, it looks like they all had a total blast! These pics sort of crack me up because I know these people in real-life & it's a big surprise that they would go to this event, ha! But regardless, they all look really great in all their costumes. ( Thanks to Josh for sending the evidence ).

BAT-SQUAD 2009: Batman, Catwoman, & Batgirl!

Here are some awesome pics from last Halloween sent in by a Bat-Blog Fan named BatDave, The Drunk Knight ( who lives in New Jersey ). He wrote,

I was fortunate enough to talk my girlfriend Lisa and her stunning pal Delia into being my own personal Batgirl and Catwoman for a huge Halloween party in Woodbridge, NJ. I realize that our costumes are an amalgam of various Bat-phases, but the crowd went wild when we entered the nite club. Especially when my 2 ladies broke into a mock cat fight!! We won a $200 second prize and had an incredible night of super heroic fun!!

( Jealous ) Hey Dave, I think you guys should have got 1st Place. That contest must have surely been rigged! Lisa & Delia both look totally awesome & their costumes are great! Yours is not too shabby either. It looks like you Party Animals had a lot of fun & that's very cool. Thanks for sending the wonderful pics, they're great!

BATMAN BACKGROUNDS - Wacky Wallpaper Wednesday!

OK, This week we had so many cool Batman Wallpapers to showcase that it was hard to pick just 2 so I'm gonna throw 3 of them out here! The 1st one is an amazing graphic by a Bat-Blog Fan named Charlie Rose. As you can see he is a very talented Graphic Artist & in the near future we plan to have a more complete story about his company that makes art prints. But in the mean time, please enjoy this Adam West & Burt Ward Wallpaper. Now, the next wallpaper is an image direct from DC Comics. It features Batman with Doc Savage & it is sort of hyping their future Graphic Novel. I love that they are combining golden age pulp novel fiction with comic books, can't wait to see that! The last background is pretty cool too. It sort of shows off an amazing Batman costume that is worn by a guy who is a part of a group called the "Gotham City Five", GC5 for short. They are a team of cosplay members who dress-up for charity events. I'm gonna have a more in depth article about them in the near future too so keep an eye out for that. Well, I don't know about you but I like all 3 of these desktop backgrounds & I hope you love at least one of them, ha ha!

Australian Batman Fan Creates an Awesome BATMAN: ARKHAM ASYLUM Costume!

This morning I got an e-mail from a Bat-Blog Reader who lives in Australia. First off, I gotta say, that I have always loved that country because it just seems like such a cool place to live. I hope I get the chance to go visit there someday. Now, back to the post. Our friend's name is Paul and, besides being a major Batman Fan, he's also into creating cool costumes. So, as a new project, he made this outfit that is fashioned after the version we see in the new BATMAN: ARKHAM ASYLUM Video Game. I gotta say that this thing is pretty impressive! The detailing is great & I think it's pretty accurate too ( Be sure to click on the above photo for a larger, more detailed, version ). Paul, you did a great job on this, very well done. I know this sounds dumb, but my favorite thing is the Bat-Belt...it's awesome! Thank you very much for sending the photo!

Batman Writer, Chuck Dixon, Meets The Ventriloquist & Scarface!! ( Batman Villains )

I got this hilarious photo the other night from Chuck Dixon & it totally cracks me up! Recently he went to the 2009 Mini-Mega Con in Orlando, Florida. This is one of those comic book conventions I would really love to go to. While there, Chuck met "The Ventriloquist & The Dummy, Scarface". WOW! This costume is pretty awesome! I wanna thank Chuck for the photo, it really brightened my day. I love when Comic Book Fans get really into the characters they love. Cosplay is just one way they show they care, that's cool. Oh yeah, and for a few Bat-Blog Readers who might not know, Chuck Dixon was a MAJOR Batman comic book writer for many years during the 90's. Video: PENGUIN COSPLAY From Batman Returns Movie

Recently at the Yamato Cosplay Cup in Brazil ( 2009 ) a fan dressed up as the Penguin ( Danny Devito version from the 1992 BATMAN RETURNS movie ). He did a small musical number on stage. It's kind of surreal to watch but the costume is actually very good, the make-up too. One thing I learned while reading about this was that this character is known as "Pinguim" in Brazil...very cool!

Cute Pin-Up Models - Batgirl & Harley Quinn!

A Bat-Blog Reader, named Rob, sent us these 2 photos he said he randomly found on the internet. They show 2 extremely cute pin-up girl models dressed up in costumes like Batgirl & Harley Quinn, in bed, on a pile of comic books!! Mmmeeeooowww, this has gotta be every Batman Fan's total fantasy! Not too mention all the comic books nerds ( I mean "nerds" in a good way ) out there who would totally freak-out if their girlfriends did this, ha ha! Of course you know some of the comic book collectors would complain that they are "damaging some MINT copies" of their favorite titles, ha ha! Thank you Rob, these pics are totally awesome!
