I really don't care about "Celebrity News", it's shallow & lame. But I came across this paparazzi photo the other day that's kinda cool. It shows the Actor Robert Downey Jr ( Ironman & Sherlock Holmes ) walking down the street with his Son. The funny thing is his Son, Indio, is wearing a Batman T-Shirt AND Bat-Symbol Logo Belt Buckle, ha! Yes, it appears he's more of a Batman Fan than one of Ironman!
People who have been reading the Bat-Blog for awhile might remember a video we posted recently called "IRON MAN vs BATMAN - INTERACTIVE STOP MOTION". It's a very cool fan-made animated movie made with some high-end digital equipment & some wonderful HOT TOYS figures. The animation is really well done & the best thing is the story is pretty funny! Well, here's a "Making Of..." documentary explaining some of the techniques used.
Ever wonder who would win in a fight between Iron Man and Batman? Well, now YOU get to choose in this interactive clash of the billionaires! This video took our friend Kyle over 3 months of work to complete & he shot over 1,000 individual pictures. Kyle used Dragon Stop Motion to capture, After Effects for bulk of the animating, and Final Cut Pro to cut it together and add all of the audio. AS A SIDE NOTE: Both the Hot Toy figures and the animation video will be on display later at the Toy and Action Figure Museum in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma.
On a personal level I really love ART in just about all of it's forms, especially artwork made by children. It just has a very nice charm about it. Well, a friend to the Bat-Blog, named Adrian, recently went to an exhibit of "Little Kid's Superhero Art" & he got some amazing photos to share. Adrian wrote, "I went to a local mall last night to see some 3-dimensional life-size paper-mache sculptures. They were created by some 7th & 8th grade students of the Holten-Richmond Middle School of Danvers, MA. My girlfriend's cousins, who are in the 8th grade class, helped on a sculpture." WOW! These HUGE sculptures are really super-great! Because the Bat-Blog is ALL about Batman I am sort of showcasing the one of the Joker. It's the Heath Ledger version from the Dark Knight Batman movie ( which is kinda weird for little kids to be making, ha ha ) but they did a wonderful job on this figure! He looks awesome! There were also some pieces, equally as great, that focused on Marvel Comic Book characters. They made Spiderman, The Incredible Hulk, Ironman, & Dr. Octopus! All the artwork here is really special & I wanna congratulate all the children on a job very well done! Also, I wanna thank Adrian for the use of these pics. Thank you, they're very cool!
If you go to a lot of comic book conventions then you might have been lucky enough to view the "mural" artwork of Eric Maruscak in person. Eric creates HUGE works of art, in chalk, on the sidewalks near many events. The photo up above shows one he did recently. It features The Dark Knight, Indiana Jones, & Ironman. He did this both for the love of the characters & to celebrate the fact that there has finally been some really great movies this year. OK, I haven't seen the Indiana Jones movie yet but I can say that Ironman was pretty awesome! And of course you know that I love TDK, ha ha! I'm curious if any other readers have seen this guy's work. If so then please comment down below. A friend just sent me a link to a very funny webcomic that I shamefully & totally forgot about. It's called FULL FRONTAL NERDITY & the characters are all into comic books, video games, DVD movies...ya know, "cool nerd stuff", ha ha! It's really well-drawn & on most days very funny.
