Video - BELLY WASHERS TV Commercials - Europe & China
The other day we posted a photo of a brand-new piece of Bat-merchandise for Collectors to watch out for, a new different BATMAN Belly Washer ( a fruit-flavored beverage sold in a plastic bottle with a character head/figure on top ). Well, I got curious about this company & learned that they sell these things all over the world! In fact, here are 2 TV Commercials that aired in Europe and China... Yes, you read that right, China!! They both show an older Batman figure in them.

BATMAN COLLECTING: 2 New Pieces To Watch For

"Being a Batman Collector" is really the main focus of the Bat-Blog. So, every chance we get, we try to feature Brand-New Bat-Merchandise or Older Vintage Toys. Here are 2 new items to keep an eye out for on your next hunt. The 1st photo is an AUTO WORLD 1966 BATMAN TV Show BATMOBILE SLOT CAR... in WHITE Color! Yes, besides making the actual Slot Car Set ( with track & everything ) Auto World sells just the car by itself. But they're not stopping there! They are also coming out with a few variations: the Classic "Black" Batmobile, a "Chrome" version, & a "White" one ( Shown up above ). Next is a very fun piece of Bat-Memorabilia, it's a BATMAN Belly Washers Bottle! This one was recently found in a Safeway Grocery Store ( Thanks Kevin ) & before you think you might already have this one, it is new & the figure on top is different.

Vintage BATMAN AND ROBIN Movie Food Products

Here are 2 print advertisements that were printed on the back cover of a few comic books back in the day. They advertised a few food products that tied into the latest Batman movie, of the time, 1997's BATMAN AND ROBIN. I remember when these came out & even though I was NOT a big fan of the film, I still bought these for their boxes. I have always loved wacky food packaging like this. In hindsight I'm glad I did. This stuff is sort of strange now & kinda hard to find. In the future they should be pretty rare. The 1st ad is for the Batman & Robin Movie Kellogg's Pop-Tarts. The weird thing is that it only shows 3 boxes but there were actually 4. I think the one they didn't show was "Batgirl". Next, we see an old ad for MR. FREEZE Freezer Bars. The funny thing is that it was the actual name of the product even before the movie promotion. Seriously, see the Snowman? That's "Mr Freeze", ha! I guess that was the perfect tie-in. The graphics on this large box were actually pretty cool.

New BATMAN Mineral Water Bottle from Japan!

OK, I don't know what the deal is this moment about the Japanese but they are going totally crazy for Batman right now!! Here at the Bat-Blog we have reported a few new pieces of bat-merchandise lately that are exclusive to Japan. I love this area of collectibles because this stuff is not only hard to get but it's also very cool. Now, this is kind of weird, but here's a Batman-shaped Bottle of Mineral Water. I think it's really neat but I wish they would have made a "Batman head for the bottle"...that would have been better & would have completed his costume, ha! But I bet it would have made the thing way more expensive to produce so I guess I sort of understand that. Anyways, it's still pretty neat! They also have one that looks like Superman ( not pictured here ). Oh yeah, just to be clear: The 1st pic is from that companies official website & the 2nd one is a picture of the real actual item.

Vintage BATMAN MEMORABILIA From Around The Globe!

OK, it's no secret how I am totally goo-goo over Vintage Batman memorabilia & some of the best items, or at least the hardest ones to find, are from countries outside the United States. Check these out!! The 1st RARE item shown here is a 1966 BATMAN School Writing Tablet from Holland. Yes, it's Dutch! I totally love the graphics on the cover, great stuff! The 2nd pic is a newer item ( 1980's ) & comes all the way from Japan! The Japanese are known for their love of the Caped Crusader so it's no big surprise that they marketed a few pieces of merchandise to capitalize on the 1989 Batman movie craze. This is a Store Display offering Batman Keychains....how cool is that?! The last item is kind of weird but I totally love it. It's a Batman and Robin Candy Box from 1997! This was made in England, or the UK. On the back of each box were some Character Trading Cards you could collect. This one features Mr. Freeze. Also, it's the "Animated Series" version, so I love it even more now, ha ha! Do you live outside the USA? Are you a Batman Collector? Please contact us & let us know. We always love meeting other people from around the world who like the Dark Knight.

Strange BATMAN Advertising From Argentina!

Here's a really weird piece of Batman history I came across the other day. It's a picture of an advertisement that might have appeared in a vintage comic book. I'm pretty sure that it is from Argentina. It features Batman, Robin, & Jim Gordon. It looks like they are trying to sell Strawberry Yogurt??? It's made to look like a comic book page & it's titled "El Acertijo", which means, "The Riddler". But, the Riddler character is NOT in the ad...yes, very strange. If anybody can read this, or knows about its origin, then please let us know.

BATMAN Promotional Food Products...From Egypt!!

OK, I gotta say upfront that this is a post I am very proud of. You see, I just recently got an e-mail from a Batman Fan who lives in Egypt! Yes, EGYPT...How cool is that?! Her name is Myret & she says she has loved the Dark Knight since she was around 9 years old. She is now 23. She was also kind enough to send some great photos of a few pieces of Batman-related merchandise she has found in her country. The 1st two photos relate to a Batman Food Product called "Halwani FUN Sausages". They are a Meat Snack & the box says, "They're Ready To Eat!" She said that as a free premium inside you get the Set of Batman Playing Cards that are shown in the 2nd picture. WOW, a whole deck! The last photo shows 2 Bags of Potato Chips that she said are a lot like ( American ) Cheetos. Now, their special premium prize were some Batman & Robin ( comic book version ) Puzzle Playing Pieces. I guess if you collect them all they make a neat image...WOW! Thank you so very much Myret for taking the time to shoot these nice pics. I really appreciate you sending them. These unusual pieces of Bat-Memorabilia are really GREAT!!

THE DARK KNIGHT COOKIES Batman Movie Food Product

Riddle me this, Batman! The following pictures were sent in by a Bat-Blog Reader ( Thanks Adam ) who is trying to find out what country these special "Tormis Cookies" were made. Anybody know? Sadly I had to tell him I have never seen these before ( they are pretty cool though ). The Tormis Pastry Cookie Company had a promotional tie-in with the recent "The Dark Knight" Batman movie & even had special POGS you could collect. I would also like to know where these are from so if anybody knows then please contact us. Our e-mail button is always on the top right-hand side of this webpage.

BATMAN: THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD ICE CREAM By Blue Bunny!

As a serious Batman Toy Collector one of the things I enjoy focusing on is the "weird & wacky" items! Mainly because it's fun but also because, later, these items become very desirable & kinda RARE. Here's a good example of a brand-new product that is just starting to hit the stores & one to look out for. It's BATMAN ICE CREAM! It's actually a cherry-flavored treat that, when licked, produces 2 white gumballs, ha ha! Yes, Batman has gumballs for eyes ( In the photo up above, showing the gumball eyes, I like how the Dark Knight seems to have a super-surprised look on his face, ha ha! ). This new food product is made by the Blue Bunny Ice Cream Company. The wrapper has some excellent graphics from the Batman: The Brave and The Bold TV Show ( Airs on Friday Nights, The Cartoon Network ). I remember a few years ago Blue Bunny Inc. marketed this exact same ice cream treat for the Batman: The Animated Series. I have that wrapper & a store display sign used by shops to advertise this product. I guess the company kept the same mold & is using it again, that's cool.

AD VIDEO: Foreign THE DARK KNIGHT TV COMMERCIAL Batman Movie Food Product
This Teaser-Commercial TV Clip, produced as a way of launching the ad campaign for a brand new Batman Food Product called the "5+ Power Meal" by Mlekara Subotica.I'm not even sure what country this is from so if any readers know then please tell me. I apologize for not being so savy with many different languages. At the end of the clip we see that The Dark Knight movie logo reads, "MRACNI VITEZ". It looks like they made both a yogurt snack & maybe flavored milk. The commercial is pretty cool & it's totally driving me crazy not knowing what this stuff is or where it's from, ha ha!

Batman's Mardi Gras and New Orleans' Connection

I thought this was kinda weird! Recently 2 Bat-Blog Readers ( who don't know each other ) sent me some pictures that are related to New Orleans & Mardi Gras. I mean, what are the odds of that!? I thought it was a good omen & decided to post them together. The 1st photo is from a friend named "Mo" who wanted to share this pic of "Batman at Mardi Gras". It's a parade float with a HUGE Batman on it...how awesome is that!? With the actual event for 2009 just a few days away I thought it would be fun to see this. Let's hope they do another Batman-Themed Float this year! The next one is even more obscure & older. It's a local advertisement in a flyer for an event in New Orleans where Adam West had appeared. The local ad was for a Grocery Store & the graphic was a Jar of 1966 BATMAN PEANUT BUTTER!! Oh man, this wacky bat-item is super-RARE! Not just the ad but the actual jar too, ha ha! Thanks to Mo & Jeff for sending these, I appreciate that!

BATMAN Superhero Christmas Gingerbread Cookie Art!

A friend named Reis, who runs a cool blog called Geek Orthodox, sent me some amazing pictures last night of a recent event featuring HUGE Batman-related Cookie Art! Yeah, you read that right, Cookie ART! In Washington, every year, the downtown Seattle Sheraton Hotel hosts a Gingerbread Village display decoration in their main lobby for Christmas. This year they seemed to go with a "Superhero Theme". It looks like some awesome pastry chef artists went totally nuts making a huge Batman display. They made a few different Batman figures, a Joker & Scarecrow head, even the Tumbler Batmobile! I have a few photos here but if want to see a lot more of these edible creations then please visit his site.

THE DARK KNIGHT : DANIX COOKIES Batman Movie Promo in Brazil

Right now, over in Brazil, they have a promotion for THE DARK KNIGHT Batman movie with the DANIX Cookie Company. ( In Brazil they call the movie "O Cavaleiro Das Trevas" ). There are 2 different packages of cookies with beautiful graphics on them! They also have a special "Sticker Collector's Album" you can get & inside each package are a few stickers. There are 28 Batman Stickers to collect. My picture up above shows a small example of them. They feature a lot of the stock art showing the Tumbler Batmobile, The Joker, & other graphics from the movie. I know it's totally crazy but I would really love to have a few packages of these, ha ha! Collecting the weird "Batman food packaging" is a side-hobby of mine. Plus, they are "foreign" so I am totally goo-goo, ha ha! For more information just click on the button down below.

Batman Food Products Past and Present

One aspect of collecting Batman Memorabilia that I really enjoy are the wacky food products that companies come out with. I almost always love the design of the packaging to these items & a perfect example is the BATMAN GUMMY-BAT that is in stores now. Basically it's a HUGE gummy bear candy that is in the shape of a real-life flying bat ( yeah, very weird ). Now, the only place I have seen this so far is Toys-R-Us but it really cracks me up! The next example is a vintage ad from 1996. Back then if you bought Eskimo Pie Ice Cream or Welch's Fruit Juice Bars then you could have got 2 Batman & Robin: Animated Series Trading Cards, there were 12 to collect. ( Thanks to Mike for sending this cool photo ). So, I'm wondering... What other "Batman Food Products" are out there? If you have something like this in your collection then please send a photo today!

BATMAN PURIFIED WATER!

Yes, you read the title correctly...BATMAN PURIFIED WATER!! A friend to the Bat-Blog, named Todd, sent me this photo of a bottle of Batman Water, ha ha! At first I thought it was a joke, maybe something some fan had made, just because it seems kinda ridiculous! I wrote Todd back & asked, "Is this thing real or a joke?" Ha Ha, he wrote back, "No, it's real! I bought it a Toys R US about a month ago". As an obsessed Batman collector I really love wacky stuff like this, the crazier, the better. I like that they used JIM LEE artwork for the label, that's cool. A lot of companies, all the time, are trying to capitalize on the success of this character & sometimes they have some wacky-crazy ideas. Todd later told me he writes a website called SUPERHERO FOOD where he showcases his collection of superhero-related food items. Memorabilia like Superman Peanut Butter, Spiderman Cereal, Teen Titans Popsicles, etc...I told him that I have been there before & it's a favorite site of mine. I also like to collect this kind of stuff but keep my collection down to mainly Batman items. I have been trying to link to his site here but there's been problems. Once it's avaliable again I'll add a link, sorry.

THE DARK KNIGHT Gets Cheesy In Brazil!

Awhile back we received some really great photos of some new products featuring THE DARK KNIGHT that were from Brazil. We posted most of them but this one sort of got lost. They were sent in by our friend Marcio & this is one that, like a moron, I forgot to publish. But, the picture is pretty cool. In Brazil they have Batman Cheetos Con Surpresa Potato Chips, ha ha! I mean, how cool is that?! It looks like there are a lot of free premiums to collect. They look like Disc-Launchers & there's about 11 of them to hunt down. I like that & I also love the cool graphics on the package. Thanks Marcio for sending the great pix, I appreciate that!

Ha Ha, my sister gave me these BATMAN FRUIT ROLL-UPS the other night. She said she was grocery shopping & when she saw something promoting The Dark Knight movie she knew I would like it. Yes, thanks Deb, I love it!! The packaging artwork is pretty cool & I always want ANYTHING Batman that I don't have...Thank You. With all the food product tie-ins this movie has had recently ( Betty Crocker Brownies, Domino's Pizza, General Mills Cereal, Totino's Pizza Rolls, etc...) I am gonna get super fat!!
