Check out this amazing photo! These are the original glove pieces for Michelle Pfeiffer's CATWOMAN costume from the 1992 BATMAN RETURNS movie, her "Claws". They were created by a Movie Prop Designer named Scott Schneider and I think it's really interesting to see these sort of things. Most of the time they are very well designed. Here's a photo of our friend Carlos. He got to see the original Batmobile car from the 1989 BATMAN movie at the Six Flags Theme Park in Texas!! OK, I just meant for the title to this post to be a joke. Carlos DID NOT TRY to steal the '89 Batmobile! But you know he wanted too. See how he's all ready to leap under that roped-fence thing? I bet he saw a Security Guard at the last minute & then pretended like, "Oh, I'm just getting my picture taken...I'm not doing anything", ha ha! Thanks Carlos for sending us this wonderful photo & I'm just teasing about you being a thief. I'm just jealous because I have never got to see this beautiful custom movie car in real life, ha!

Recent Photo: THE 1966 BATMAN TV SHOW BATCOPTER

Here's some freakin' sweet photos of the Original 1966 Batman TV Show & Movie BATCOPTER!! This is NOT a replica but the real deal! I got these photos from a friend named Amanda. In one pic you can see her standing next to Eugene Nock, the Owner & Pilot of the '66 Batman Helicopter. You see, after he bought the original TV & Movie Prop he totally restored it & now goes on tour visiting State Fairs & Auto/Comic Book Conventions allowing people to go for a ride. I know a few people who have done it & they all say it's a total blast! Because of the design of the copter's canopy you get an extreme view of the ground. A lot of people say it's almost like you're flying in the air like Peter Pan & not just looking out of a window. I know what they're talking about. I have not had a ride in this helicopter but one just like it ( a Bell Army one ), as a kid at the Oklahoma State Fair, many many years ago. It's a totally cool experience! I wanna thank Amanda for sharing these wonderful photos. She's very nice, I appreciate that. If there are any other Bat-Blog Readers who have taken a ride on the Famous Bat-Copter then please send us some pics & share your experience. Also, about Amanda: She is the Model from the "Superhuman Experiment" so please be sure to check it out sometime by clicking LINK!

REFERENCE PHOTO: The Original ROBIN BATARANG From The 1966 Batman TV Show

Holy Movie Prop, Batman! Here's a very cool photo I found awhile back & have been meaning to share. It's a high-resolution photo of the Original BATARANG used by Burt Ward in the 1966 Batman TV Show. Of course he played Robin, The Boy Wonder! I think it's really neat to see original props like this. The paint is sort of a metallic-blue. Plus, it's an interesting part of Bat-History. ( Be sure to click on the above photo for a larger, more detailed, photo ).

ART MASTERPIECE: The 1966 Batman TV Show Adam West Cowl Made By Chuck!

OK, I swear that I don't mean for the Bat-Blog to be all "Adam West - Batman Day" today, it just worked out that like that, ha ha! But I had to post these 2 new photos I found because I'm really proud of them. A friend of mine, named Chuck, who's an extremely talented artist & sculptor, makes these totally amazing 1966 Batman Cowl Replicas that I consider to be Masterpieces of ART. I'm really trying to be sincere here when I say that & I'm not trying to be sarcastic or anything, I mean, just look at the photos! Chuck made this by hand & it's almost better, no, it is better, than the original ones they made for the 60's TV Series. The attention to details, in every way, is totally insane! It's just completely beautiful! I seriously wish I could afford one of them. In fact, I would buy 2. One to put in a glass display case with security guards watching it 24 hours a day & the other to wear every single moment of my life!

Batman "Blue Flower" Arrangement Inspired by the BATMAN BEGINS Movie

I seriously love when Bat-Blog Readers contribute stuff because it helps to create a wide variety of Batman News. Here is a great example of that. I received an e-mail the other day from a loyal reader named Jennifer who is a total Batman Fan! ( She called herself a "Girly Bat-Fan", ha ha ). For her birthday she received a beautiful flower arrangement that was totally inspired by the Batman Begins movie. It was created by Black Dahlia Floral Designs of Orlando. OK, let me explain a second, remember that "special blue flower" that Bruce Wayne ( Christian Bale ) had to find on the mountain top so that Ra's al Ghul ( Liam Neeson ) could make a special potion to "help Bruce find the truth"? Well, that movie prop was a combination of 2 real-life flowers put together to create a foreign unknown "blue flower". The base of the flower was created using the broad-spike leaf-pattern of a Blue Thistle & the part in the center, that was the "Blue Flower", was a Blue Anemone Bud. They were both dried out & combined to make the special blue flower that Bruce Wayne had to find. Well, as you can see from the photos one of the main components to this flower arrangement is the Blue Thistle. It's interesting to note that the florist's supplier called this flower the "Batman Flower". It must be pretty popular. I wanna thank Jennifer for sharing both the wonderful photos & the cool information. I didn't know that day that I would learn something new, ha ha. ( I always wondered, "What is that special blue flower used in the Batman Begins movie?" ) Plus, the flower arrangement is totally awesome, it's really beautiful. Thank you Jen.

The Original BAT-POD Motorcycle & Costume Props From THE DARK KNIGHT Spotted in the UK!

I was pleasantly surprised the other night to receive an e-mail from a Bat-Blog Reader named Lee who lives in the UK. He had some really wonderful photos of the original BAT-POD Motorcycle & a few Prop Costumes from THE DARK KNIGHT Batman movie. He explained in his letter, "Hi Tom, my name is Lee, I'm from Manchester, England and I am a huge BATMAN fan. Last year I was lucky enough to get a glimpse (and a cheeky feel) of the Bat-Pod and I was also lucky to see all the costumes in glass display units. I have been looking at your website for about 2 years now and find it really interesting, especially being a collector myself. Also once I get all my collection together I will send you some pics. I have some really wicked stuff like Hot Toys, Model Kits, Action Figures, and a few really rare items. Anyway, keep up the brilliant website! I have attached some pictures of that day I went to see the costumes and Bat-Pod. The picture with the guy in a white t-shirt & brown hat is me!" Cool, very cool! Thank you for sending these great pics Lee & also for the kind words about this blog! Getting to meet Bat-Fans from all over the world is really exciting for me. On a side note I am totally jealous you got to see the real Bat-Pod & these cool costumes, that's a Super-RARE opportunity! It's really neat that Warner Bros displayed this stuff so far away, in the UK. So tell me honestly, did you totally want to steal the Bat-Pod? I know I would have, Ha Ha!

OK, This post is for all you "Millionaire Collectors" & is sort of in 2 sections. In one, Profiles in History is holding an auction on May 1st, 2009, where they are selling off a huge proportion of the Hollywood Wax Museum statues. These are the original wax statues displayed at the famous museum & there are a ton of great ones like James Dean, Lucille Ball, Wizard of OZ, Henry Winkler as The Fonz, John Travolta, Bob Hope, etc...way too many to list here but it's totally crazy how many there are! Now, the 2nd part of this post is about Profiles in History ALSO selling original movie props from another collection, sort of two-auctions-in-one. Original 1997 BATMAN AND ROBIN Movie Costume Prop on eBay!

OK, I never post links to eBay auction items but this is a very RARE opportunity to get an actual piece of Batman Movie History! A friend of mine, named Markus, is having his friend in Canada sell an item for him from his movie memorabilia collection because he needs some quick cash. He's selling the original screen-used "Robin - Ice Suit Gloves" that Chris O'Donnell wore in the 1997 Batman and Robin movie by Joel Schumacher. The photos here are of those items & then there's a reference photo showing how they looked in the film. You might remember an older post here where we showed his Batman Cowl & Robin Mask that he also owns. For more info, or to actually bid on this item ( the auction ends on April 20th ), click on ROBIN ICE GLOVES.

Swedish BATMAN COLLECTOR Shares Original MOVIE COSTUME PROP Photos!

A new Bat-Friend named Markus sent us some extremely cool photos the other night & he said, "My name is Markus and I'm from Sweden, 20 years old. I'm a big Batman Fan and really enjoy your blog. I have two major Batman pieces in my collection. I have the Original Robin Mask worn on screen by Chris O'Donnell in the 1995 BATMAN FOREVER movie . I also have the original Batman Cowl worn by George Clooney in BATMAN AND ROBIN ( 1997 ). I know most fans dislike these movies but the suits themselves are pretty cool and extremely well made. As a Batman Fan I really enjoy owning these pieces." Thanks Markus, the photos are awesome & I can only imagine how cool it is to see these amazing pieces of bat-memorabilia, in real-life, everyday! I know that the "Joel Schumacher films" are sort of laughed at today but they are a part of bat-history & actually, "Batman Forever" wasn't too bad, ha ha. I know that for a lot of younger Batman Fans these movies were sort of their introduction to the character & for that reason, when they get older, these movies will be very special to them. Something to think about is that every fan sort of has their "own Batman"...the one they loved a s a kid. So, looking at it that way, these Movie Props are sort of guaranteed to become even more special & valuable in the future. I think these are great pieces, I even like the display cases, & thanks again for sharing these pics. The Bat-Blog is all about the joys of collecting & I appreciate the time it took for you to send these. If any other readers have cool stuff to share then send it...today!
