Video - 1967 Family BATMAN Movie ( Vintage Fan Film )
A friend of ours over at Facebook sent us this link to a really great BATMAN Fan Film. Now the thing that's extremely cool about it is that it was done in 1967! Yes, some kids back then must have had an 8mm camera or something & they put this BATMAN movie together! The thing that's so cool is that the "vintage look" of the movie gives it a lot of charm. Plus, they used some old Batman Halloween Masks as props, which are great to see! They also featured a fun 1966 Batmobile toy car that acts as the car in the movie. It's use is really clever... enjoy!

Halloween Masks of Joker & The Penguin From Batman: The Animated Series

Just a quick post - Last night, on the crazy Internet, I found these cool Halloween masks of the Joker & Penguin. They're done in the cartoon style of Batman: The Animated Series. I think they're only sold as child-size but I'm still gonna have to buy a set of these later, they're pretty cool. Here's a LINK if you want to check them out.

New BATMAN: THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD Collectible - The STARRO MASK!

Here's a brand-new Batman collectible item out there to find that I think is pretty awesome! For the BATMAN: THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD CARTOON Interview Panel at the 2010 San Diego Comic Con ( SDCC ) Warner Bros gave out these foam-rubber STARRO MASK premiums! Now, for everybody who has been watching this TV show for the last few episodes we know the whole STARRO thing has been a small side story deal that keeps building up. Remember, STARRO creatures stick themselves to people's faces ( like the face-hugger in the ALIENS movies ) & then control their minds. Anyway, I think the masks are totally great & since I didn't get to go to Comic Con this year I'm gonna be trolling eBay for one of these. I checked last night & they're going pretty cheap. That's cool, or as Aquaman would say, "OUTRAGIOUS!!"

Vintage Photo: A YOUNG BATMAN IN COSTUME ( With Alfred, The Butler? )

Here's a Vintage Family Photo sent in by our good friend Chip Kidd. Now, this is not "Chip when he was a small child", ha ha! No, it's just a photo that a friend sent to him because it is Batman & then he sent to us. WOW! This photo is extremely beautiful, both in subject matter AND quality! Because of the style of the Batman Superhero Halloween Costume, & the fashion of the clothing worn by Alfred, The Butler ( OK, probably his father or Grandfather, ha ha! ), I would guess it's from the early 1960's. So, the fact that it looks even older is pretty cool. I mean it looks Vintage 40's at least! Maybe it's the fact that it's Black & White or maybe because the architectural details are sort of European-looking. But the costume having the "Yellow Oval Bat-Symbol" on the chest is a dead give-away that's it's at least 1960's. Anyways, thank you to Chip Kidd for sending this wonderful photo, I really appreciate that & know everybody will love this cool pic! Now, If any other Bat-Blog Readers have similar "Batman Halloween Costume" photos then I am inviting them to send them in too!

BATMAN FANS Know How To Party in Brisbane, Australia!!

Awhile back, here at the Bat-Blog, we featured a photo of an awesome BATMAN: ARKHAM ASYLUM Custom Bat-Suit Costume made by our friend Paul. He lives in Australia. Well, recently he & a few of his friends went to a convention event in Brisbane, all dressed-up in Batman related Costumes! We have all the major characters covered: Batman, Robin, Joker, Harley Quinn, Catwoman, Two-Face, Commissioner James "Jim" Gordon, The Riddler, & one other character who's name I forget at this moment ( Sorry, is it Anarchy? ). The great thing was they were able to get a few really wonderful photos during this time ( Please be sure to click on these pics for larger, more detailed, versions ). Now if I got the info correct, this 1st photo ( close-up shot ) was taken on the 2nd day & a couple of people changed costumes. But the other 2 pics were shot on the 1st day when they were really goofing around! The shot of them all walking towards you. That is a parody of the opening credits sequence of the JUSTICE LEAGUE cartoon ( imagine them in slow motion, ha ha ). The next one is a really famous parody that everyone should recognize right away. It's The Beatles ABBEY ROAD Album Cover!! OK, I really love all these costume pics but the homage to The Beatles just totally cracks me up! Ha Ha Ha, it's so GREAT! I wanna thank Paul for sharing these fun photos with my readers. Thanks Paul, everybody is gonna totally love these. I also wanna send a shout-out to all of your friends who got dressed up...you guys all look great & your costumes are awesome too...even the girl who's character I can't remember the name of because I'm totally stupid, ha ha! Oh man, I wish I had some of these for Halloween this year!

New BATMAN: THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD Birthday Masks at Party City!

A reader of the Bat-Blog recently sent in these pics of his 2 sons. He said he got these Batman Party Masks at a place called PARTY CITY for $1.93 each! It's a Birthday Party Supply store & he said that besides plates, cups, napkins ( the usual stuff ), there were also some toy prizes like the Grappling Hook & the Batarang too! The neat thing about the masks is that they are not those flat die-cut paper ones they usually make but are sort of 3D plastic-molded ( He did say they were kind of cheap & flimsy but they're still awesome ). David said when he was returning home from the store he could see his kids in the backseat wearing the masks & seeing the "creepy eyes" was sort of weird, ha ha! I gotta admit I have always liked this "Birthday party" stuff because it's so unusual. Plus, it's kind of inexpensive & fun to look at. Now, these masks are totally great & I am going to have to buy a few of these! Thank you David for sending in the wonderful photos.

ART MASTERPIECE: The 1966 Batman TV Show Adam West Cowl Made By Chuck!

OK, I swear that I don't mean for the Bat-Blog to be all "Adam West - Batman Day" today, it just worked out that like that, ha ha! But I had to post these 2 new photos I found because I'm really proud of them. A friend of mine, named Chuck, who's an extremely talented artist & sculptor, makes these totally amazing 1966 Batman Cowl Replicas that I consider to be Masterpieces of ART. I'm really trying to be sincere here when I say that & I'm not trying to be sarcastic or anything, I mean, just look at the photos! Chuck made this by hand & it's almost better, no, it is better, than the original ones they made for the 60's TV Series. The attention to details, in every way, is totally insane! It's just completely beautiful! I seriously wish I could afford one of them. In fact, I would buy 2. One to put in a glass display case with security guards watching it 24 hours a day & the other to wear every single moment of my life!

PROFILES IN HISTORY Auction is Selling Some Amazing Batman Memorabilia

OK, This post is for all you "Millionaire Collectors" & is sort of in 2 sections. In one, Profiles in History is holding an auction on May 1st, 2009, where they are selling off a huge proportion of the Hollywood Wax Museum statues. These are the original wax statues displayed at the famous museum & there are a ton of great ones like James Dean, Lucille Ball, Wizard of OZ, Henry Winkler as The Fonz, John Travolta, Bob Hope, etc...way too many to list here but it's totally crazy how many there are! Included in that sale are life-size figures of 1989 Batman ( Michael Keaton ), '89 Joker ( Jack Nicholson ), & 1992 Catwoman From Batman Returns ( Michelle Pfeiffer ).

Now, the 2nd part of this post is about Profiles in History ALSO selling original movie props from another collection, sort of two-auctions-in-one. The Batman-related items in that sale include: a Screen-Used Cowl from Batman & Robin, Jim Carrey's Riddler Cane from Batman Forever, Val Kilmer's Sonar Bat-Suit Costume, 1966 Catwoman Cat-Suit & Belt ( Lee Meriwether ), Adam West's Tights, Val Kilmer's Panther Cowl, Arnold Schwarzenegger's Mr. Freeze Costume & Freeze-Ray Gun ( sold separately ), etc...Both sales are spread out over a 2 day period & will surely have to be visited by many Batman Fans. For more details just search "Profiles in History" & visit their main page.

Swedish BATMAN COLLECTOR Shares Original MOVIE COSTUME PROP Photos!

A new Bat-Friend named Markus sent us some extremely cool photos the other night & he said, "My name is Markus and I'm from Sweden, 20 years old. I'm a big Batman Fan and really enjoy your blog. I have two major Batman pieces in my collection. I have the Original Robin Mask worn on screen by Chris O'Donnell in the 1995 BATMAN FOREVER movie . I also have the original Batman Cowl worn by George Clooney in BATMAN AND ROBIN ( 1997 ). I know most fans dislike these movies but the suits themselves are pretty cool and extremely well made. As a Batman Fan I really enjoy owning these pieces." Thanks Markus, the photos are awesome & I can only imagine how cool it is to see these amazing pieces of bat-memorabilia, in real-life, everyday! I know that the "Joel Schumacher films" are sort of laughed at today but they are a part of bat-history & actually, "Batman Forever" wasn't too bad, ha ha. I know that for a lot of younger Batman Fans these movies were sort of their introduction to the character & for that reason, when they get older, these movies will be very special to them. Something to think about is that every fan sort of has their "own Batman"...the one they loved a s a kid. So, looking at it that way, these Movie Props are sort of guaranteed to become even more special & valuable in the future. I think these are great pieces, I even like the display cases, & thanks again for sharing these pics. The Bat-Blog is all about the joys of collecting & I appreciate the time it took for you to send these. If any other readers have cool stuff to share then send it...today!

Batman Scarecrow Halloween Costume is a HIT!

Last month, one of my friends over at MySpace sent me some pictures of his Scarecrow Costume he made. You might have remembered that post awhile back. Well, here's his costume at the party his family had & it looks like it was a total success! It also looks like they had Batman arrive with a mustache, pretty funny! The picture with the large group of people features his sister as The Joker & his cousin wearing an awesome Mad Hatter Costume. So, I'm guessing everybody there was a big Batman Fan too, that's cool!

Family Photo: BAT-BABY Wearing Batman Mask!

"I AM BATMAN!!" At one of the many Message Boards I am a member of I saw this extremely cute family photo that I knew I had to share here. Someone with a very tiny little baby placed a Batman mask on it's face for a family photo. Personally, I really love this picture & think it's a work of true ART. I instantly e-mailed the owner of this picture to ask permission & he was kind enough to say, Yes! So, thank you for allowing me to share this. I really love this picture & know my readers will too...it's adorable!

Preview: NEW The DARK KNIGHT Batman Movie Toys & Memorabilia!

I've been collecting some RARE photos of some of the new DARK KNIGHT Batman Movie merchandise, just for you, that I have been seeing & thought I would post some today. There's a lot to look at so let's get right to it! The 1st photo is gonna be the new calender to get for 2009, THE DARK KNIGHT Movie 16 Month Wall Calender. I wish I knew what the inside photos were but the cover has amazing graphics so it should be pretty sweet. The next item was photographed at the recent New York Comic Con ( NYCC 2008 ) , it's the official SCARECROW Dark Knight Action Figure from Mattel. I love the facial expression of this character, sort of scary &"cartoony". The next 2 photos are from the Rubie's Costume Catalog. It looks like they're gonna go totally crazy making all kinds of Halloween Costumes, Masks, Party Accessories, & even Joker Make-Up! The next picture is one we have put here before but this time we get a nice close-up of the actual cars. This is gonna be the DARK KNIGHT BATMAN SLOT CAR Race Set by TYCO...looks cool! I really like the Tumbler Batmobile! After this is a photo of a Dark Knight Birthday Present Bag ( or it might be a Shopping Bag from the WB Stores, not sure. This photo was sent to me by a Bat-Blog reader with no explanation ). The last photo is sort of a prototype shot of what the THE DARK KNIGHT Playstation 3 Video Game Case is gonna look like. I have not confirmed that this is the actual item but you know they're gonna HAVE to make this movie a video game! Well, that's it for now. If you have any tips or photos about new Batman items, even if they're not the movie, then please let us know!

The New DARK KNIGHT Batman Movie Trailer Premiered at the NYCC 2008 Last Weekend!

OK, The big buzz is that at the New York Comic Con ( NYCC 2008 ) yesterday Paul Levitz, the President of DC Comics, very secretly premiered the latest DARK KNIGHT BATMAN MOVIE TRAILER!! I'm sure that it will be all over the net illegally ( hint: YouTube ) but I hope they ( DC Comics or Warner Brothers ) put it on the internet like they did the last one, in HD. There's also been some buzz lately with one of the Warner Bros viral-marketing sites where Jim Gordon makes an announcement to "look for something special" very soon...let's hope it's the new trailer. The reports I have read says it will kinda focus on Harvey Dent & Rachel Dawes a lot more than the Joker. Oh yeah, while I'm mentioning the NYCC they also gave out a few JOKER GOON MASKS to some lucky people. The picture up above is what some of them look like. There are more than these 2 but I was kinda lazy, ha ha. I'll have more soon once I find them. These should be flooded on eBay any day now, if not already, so if you want some get them soon! Me, I'm gonna wait till the scalpers have ripped everybody off & then swoop-in later & get them cheap.

The Dark Knight Movie: New Joker & Batman Rubies' Halloween Masks

The new catalog for Rubies has come out & they have some neat stuff from The Dark Knight Batman movie. ( Click on the above picture for a larger, more detailed, photo ). The 2 Adult-Sized Costumes are really really lame but the latex rubber masks of Batman, Scarecrow, & the Joker look pretty cool. It looks like they're also making all the "Joker Goons Bank Robbers" too, ha ha! They also sell some "Joker Make-Up" that's kind of neat. My favorite piece is the can of "Joker Hairspray"...I bet it makes your hair green but I just like the graphics on the can of Heath Ledger's Joker face.
