BATMAN ARKHAM CITY - Video Game Skins Are Going Crazy!

OK, I woke-up this morning to discover that there are even MORE MORE MORE Costume-Mod Skins for Batman: Arkham City! Keeping up with it all is driving me crazy and I predict that there will probably be many more, ha! For now, here are the ones that will be foreign exclusives to certain companies. I would like to add that I think all of these will be made available to everybody in the future. I mean, you know everyone world-wide is going to want each and every Bat-Suit! Here they are -

From left to right: Batman Beyond, The Dark Knight Returns, Batman Earth One, 1970's Batman, and The Animated Series. The last one is the Regular "Arkham City" Version.

For now, the break-down on who is offering these skins is as follows:
  • ShopTo.net (UK) or Toys ‘R Us (USA) – 1970′s Batman
  • MightyApe – Batman Beyond, Earth One, The Animated Series
  • GameStop.co.uk – Batman Beyond

BATMAN PHONE CARDS - Reference Photos

Here at the Bat-Blog we're always trying to cover all the many different aspects of the Batman character but one main focus is on the joys of being a Bat-Collector. We also have a lot of great people who contribute wonderful material. This is a perfect example. Here are some photos sent in by our good friend, the BATFAN. He has a major collection of Batman Phone Cards he wanted to share. This is just a small portion of his full collection but these pics give you a great idea of what is out there ( Click on the pics for larger versions ). Phone Cards are really not that popular in the USA but in many foreign countries they're a VERY BIG deal. Our friend has got these from all over the globe: Brazil, Japan, Argentina, England, Canada, etc... I have always known of these things existing but never knew how many different ones there were. So, it's pretty cool to see these. My personal favorite ones are the "Batman: The Animated Series" Sets & the ones with the 1966 TV Show Actors ( Like Adam West, Julie Newmar, & Yvonne Craig ). The one with Adam West using the Red Bat-Phone is PERFECT! It's also cool to see the ones featuring the 1989 Tim Burton movie. I wanna thank BATFAN for taking the time to take these wonderful reference photos, they're GREAT! Do you have a large collection of a certain niche? Please send us some pics, thanks.

BATMAN TATTOO ART - The Animated Series

Check out this awesome Bat-Tat!! A good friend to the Bat-Blog, named Gerry, just recently sent us this photo of his special Batman Tattoo. It's a classic scene from "Batman: The Animated Series". I mean, this image is iconic! The Dark knight is standing on top of a building with lighting effects going off in the background...very cool! ( Thanks Gerry )

Zachary's BATMAN TATTOO ART - The Animated Series Opening Intro

Here's a very clever BATMAN TATTOO sent in by a Bat-Blog Fan named Zachary. He totally loves BATMAN: THE ANIMATED SERIES & to prove it his tattoo shows 3 frames from the Animation Storyboard for the cartoon's opening intro. WOW! That's very original & actually very very cool! He said he got the image from the BATMAN ANIMATED Book by Paul Dini & Chip Kidd. I love that book. It's a great "behind the scenes" look at the making of the TV Show. It came out a few years ago & is a total fan-favorite among many Batman Collectors ( For more info I posted an Amazon link at the bottom of this post ). I wanna thank Zachary for sending in this wonderful photo & also give him props for getting such a unique bat-tat! Remember Readers, if you know anybody who recently got some ink done then please shoot us a photo. Our e-mail button is always on the top right-hand side of this blog.

OK KIDS, You know the drill, today is "Wacky Wallpaper Wednesday" & that's when we feature some brand-new ( Exclusive ) BATMAN-themed Desktop Backgrounds. The next one is some beautiful comic book art of BATMAN & ROBIN running in action! It's from the now classic "Batman: The Animated Series" cartoon. I hope everybody likes these, but if not, then please remember that we have hundreds more posted here at the Bat-Blog! THE ADVENTURES OF BATMAN & ROBIN Aladdin Lunch Box ORIGINAL PRODUCTION ART ( 1995 Animated Series )

Shown here is the wonderful & totally original production art used by the Aladdin Thermos Company to create the real-life ADVENTURES OF BATMAN AND ROBIN Lunch Box ©1995! Personally, I always think it's really neat to see this "behind the scenes" type stuff. Plus, the artwork is just really great because it not only features Batman & Robin but you get to see The Joker too! I totally loved this animated TV Cartoon series & seeing the real art is a rare treat ( Be sure to click on the small images here for larger, more detailed, versions ). I wanna thank our good friend, The BATFAN, for sending us these very cool photos of his amazing art collection. Remember, stay tuned to the Bat-Blog for more great stuff like this. RARE Batman Collectibles From The BATFAN Collection

OK, For people who have been reading the Bat-Blog for quite awhile ( thanks! ) you all know one special contributor nicknamed "The BATFAN". He has donated a lot of cool contest prizes & has sent us photos from his amazing Batman Art Collection. Well, here are a few pieces of Batman Memorabilia he has in his personal collection that he wanted to share because they're all so extremely unusual & very rare. The 1st two items are Batman-Shaped Ceramic Clocks that were made & produced in Japan. Plus, they were ONLY SOLD IN JAPAN too so they're kinda hard to find in the USA. They were issued in the 1980's, just a few years before the 1989 Batman Movie. They're both so extremely cool that I actually can't decide which one I like best, ha ha! The company who made them is named CREATE & they also made the 2 Glass Mugs you see below the clocks. OK, Now the last photo is a set of Ceramic Thimbles made in England ( UK ) by the Berkshire China company in 1996. The weird thing is Batman looks like he's the "movie version" while all the others seem like they're from the "Batman: The Animated Series" cartoon. Plus, the colors are sort of off a little bit. But, they're totally wonderful to look at & I love the artwork they have! All of these items are really great & I know a lot of collectors are gonna totally droll over these pics, thanks Batfan!

Who's The Best BATMAN Voice in Animation? You Decide!

This morning I got an e-mail from a friend who sent a link to a pretty cool website. It's called BEHIND THE VOICE ACTORS & basically it's about everyone who works in the animation voice-over & cartoon character actor world. The site has one page where they allow you to compare all the voice actors who have ever voiced Batman in all the different animated series. There's a nice photo of the original actors, which I think is very interesting because you will recognize a lot of them as regular actors too, & an MP3 clip of their voices, to actually hear them. The actors include: Kevin Conroy, Will Friedle, Rino Romano, Diedrich Bader, Jeremy Sisto, Gary Owens, Michael Ironside, Adam West, Olan Soule, Ron Perlman, & Dave Gazzana. If you're a serious Batman Fan then it's worth checking out. Just click this word right HERE!

BATMAN WALLPAPER: POISON IVY Villain Desktop Backgrounds

For these week's "Wacky Wallpaper Wednesday" I thought I'd go with a POISON IVY theme. The 1st image is a photo of an original animation cel from Batman: The Animated Series. I have always loved that cartoon & still do. The art direction on that show was top-notch! The 2nd wallpaper is an incredible drawing of Poison Ivy sent in by a Bat-Blog Reader ( & amazing Graphic Artist ) named DC Miller. He really drew this & I think it's great! She looks more like the comics version than the cartoon series but I love the clean sharp lines & great coloring too. Be sure to stay tuned to the Bat-Blog because every week we have feature more backgrounds!!

BATMAN THE ANIMATED SERIES ARTWORK - The Original Art of Mark McHaley

Here's some really great pieces of art done by an artist named Mark McHaley. These pictures were donated by a good friend known as THE BATFAN. He has an amazing original art collection, it's HUGE! He likes to commission different artists to do Batman-themed paintings & drawings. Most of them are either famous illustrators or actual comic book artists. These 2 were done by an artist named Mark McHaley. One shows the different variations of the Batman character as he appeared in cartoons around the time of "Batman Beyond". ( Be sure to click on the pictures up above for larger, more detailed, photos ). The 2nd one is more of an "Animated Series" inspired piece & shows the Catwoman with the Dark Knight. I guess I should also mention that he had Kevin Conroy sign this piece too. He met him at a convention. For those who don't know Kevin was the original voice for Batman/Bruce Wayne in the Animated Series cartoon TV Show. If you would like to see more incredible art by this guy then there's a link to his website down below. Oh yeah, Thank you BATFAN for submitting these, they're extremely cool! ( The one with Batman & Catwoman flying through Gotham City is my favorite! ).

Review: BATMAN, THE ANIMATED SERIES - LIMITED EDITION MUSIC SOUNDTRACK CD ( 2 DISC SET )

OK, Awhile back we reported here about a brand-new Batman product of the music soundtrack CD ( 2 - Disc Set ) of BATMAN, THE ANIMATED SERIES. As a HUGE FAN of this extremely well-done classic television series I could not have been more thrilled. Well, I received a promo copy the other day & have been listening to it the last 2-3 days. It took me forever to hear all of it because it's around 2 1/2 hours long! Oh man, the music is beautiful & the quality is really great too! Here's the basic information about the soundtrack,
The thrilling orchestral scores from the acclaimed Warner Bros./D.C. Comics animated series BATMAN: THE ANIMATED SERIES are finally unleashed in this spellbinding 2CD Limited Edition pressing. Composer Shirley Walker, along with Lolita Ritmanis and Michael McCuistion ( BATMAN BEYOND, TEEN TITANS ), and Danny Elfman’s iconic “Batman Theme”, revolutionized animated TV music with robust, full-blooded music that propelled BATMAN: THE ANIMATED SERIES to lofty critical and artistic heights, enriching the The Dark Knight’s legacy. 20 Page CD booklet features in-depth liner notes including comments from writer/producer Paul Dini and composers Lolita Ritmanis, Michael McCuistion and Danny Elfman. Limited Edition of 3000 Units.

OK, you just read the company's info, here's mine: It comes with 2 CDs, a 20 page booklet that is actually well-written, & is limited to only 3000 units ( which is really not a lot & I expect this thing to sell-out pretty easily ). It was created by a company called LA-LA LAND RECORDS & you can really see the love they put into it. The overall design of the entire thing is very well done & my favorite part, this will be kind of corny maybe, but when you open the CD Case the very 1st thing you see, on the left side, is a photo of the composer Shirley Walker. They print the words, "In Loving Memory ...SHIRLEY WALKER 1945 - 2006". Ya see, she died very recently & she was very well respected by a lot of music fans. She did an incredible job on this cartoon ( among others ), & was really loved by a lot of people in the industry. Seriously, her music is great & she was also a very nice person. I thought that was very sweet & sort of a very classy thing to do as most published music CDs would not do a thing like that...very very cool. But, I'm sorry, back to the actual product. The music is really wonderful & will bring back a lot of memories of this awesome animated TV series. Of course it includes the classic TV Intro Theme Song done by Danny Elfman, which we all love. But, even the rest of the music is a total joy to listen to. If you go to the LA-LA LAND website there's a published track listing that shows all the songs on the 2-Disc Set. A few of the songs are "clickable" & you can listen to a few MP3 samples to get an idea...very nice! I guess one thing I should mention too is that this merchandise will ONLY be available at their website ( and maybe at some other obscure "music fan" sites ) & is reported to not be sold by other sites like Amazon or Barnes & Noble. So, if you're interesting in buying it then be sure to visit the link button down below. I guess I should say one thing. On a personal level I very seriously LOVED this Batman TV show & the fact that La-La Land Records did such an amazing job on this soundtrack really feels me with a lot of pride. The respect & love they put into this project is well appreciated by me & I know if you get a copy you'll love it too.

2 Free MR. FREEZE ( Batman Villain ) Desktop Wallpaper Backgrounds!

Oh Crap! I almost forgot that today is "Wacky Wallpapers Wednesday" so, at the last minute, I decided to post these 2 Batman Desktop Wallpapers with a MR. FREEZE theme! The first one is a special piece of graphic art done by a friend named Mark Slater ( I hope he doesn't mind me "stealing" his work, ha ha). It's a really great version of Mr. Freeze from Batman: The Animated Series. The second background is an ultra-sharp photo sent in to us by a Bat-Blog Reader named Michael. It's a Mr. Freeze action figure, shown close-up ...VERY NICE! ( Thanks to both Mark & Michael, these are great! ).

BATMAN TATTOO ART: Poison Ivy, Harley Quinn, & Catwoman Tattoos

One of our Bat-Blog Readers, named Peter, sent us these amazing photos of his 2 Batman-related Tattoos & they're AWESOME! Extremely well done with sharp lines & nice coloring. Basically it's the "GOTHAM GIRLS" done in the artwork-style of Bruce Timm from Batman: The Animated Series. On one arm he has the Catwoman leaping through the air & on the other arm is a graphic showing Poison Ivy & Harley Quinn together. I have always loved that Classic TV Cartoon & think this is a great choice for tattoo art. Thank you Peter for sending these wonderful photos. If any other readers have some pics to share then please send them in, we always appreciate it!

BATMAN DESKTOP WALLPAPERS: The Animated Series JOKER & HARLEY QUINN

OK, Not to brag or anything, but here at the Bat-Blog we're sorta famous for our Batman Themed Desktop Wallpapers, ha ha! So, at random, I thought I would post 2 of my favorites. Here are some images from the, now Super-Classic, TV Cartoon BATMAN: THE ANIMATED SERIES. The 1st one shows The Batman crashing through a window to attack the Joker. I love this "action scene". Now, since I knew I was gonna post this Joker picture I knew I had to also feature his girlfriend, Harley Quinn! That graphic is from a comic book convention Sketch done by Bruce Timm, the famous director & graphic artist! We hope you enjoy these Batman Wallpapers as much as we do & please feel free to use them in a MySpace Layout too!
