Check out this really fun photo from our friend Kevin. For his birthday this year he had, not one, but two Batman Birthday Cakes, YES! The top one has a very cool Toy Figure of the Caped Crusader on his Bat-Cycle. The next one, obviously ( ha! ), is the famous "Yellow" Bat-Logo! Thanks for sharing your photo Kevin and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

The main focus of the Bat-Blog is to share the joy of collecting Batman Toys and Bat-Products, both old & new. OK, I know we also cover the TV Shows, Cartoons, Movies, Video Games, etc...but we're mainly all about being a collector. Now one of my personal favorite areas of collecting is the neat stuff they made in the 1970's. I was a little kid during that period so they have a lot of nostalgia for me. Plus, they made a lot of wacky items back then, ha! Here's just a small example: Check out this Original Batman PEZ Store Display Box. The vintage graphics are wonderful. Back in 1976 the PEZ company made a set of PEZ Candy Dispensers of Batman, Batgirl, Wonder Woman, The Penguin, & The Joker. The cool thing, also, was that they had rubber heads ( instead of the regular hard plastic ). Today, these babies are extremely hard-to-find! Plus, why isn't the Penguin shown on the box? Strange. The next item is RARE too. Here is a Batman Finger Puppets Play Set made in 1976 by Ideal. Basically it was a set of molds where you could make some superhero character heads out of Modeling Dough. The next item is a Batman Toy Watch made by MARX Toys. It's from around 1977 & I totally remember having it as a little kid, ha! I have one of these in my personal collection ( but NOT in the original packaging ). The last item is one that I didn't even know existed until about a year ago & I've been a serious collector for 20+ years. It's a Batman L'il Zips Bat-Cycle made by AHI. OK, I knew there were one of these Bat-Cycles out there ( a larger one ) but this one is very small, a different scale. Hence the name, "L'il Zips". Someday this baby WILL BE MINE! I hope some of these pics bring back fond memories. I have a question...Do YOU have any RARE Batman Toys you would like to share? If so then please send us some pics today. Our email button is always on the top right-hand side of this page.

If you live in Argentina then you need to eat at McDonalds every day for a little while so you can collect all the brand-new BATMAN: THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD Cartoon McDonald's Happy Meal Toys!! Oh man, I'm so jealous! These toys look extremely cool & the restaurants here in the USA won't have them, ha! There are 3 action figures ( Batman, Aquaman, & The Joker ) and a cool Toy Vehicle. It's a Batmobile Car that splits open to reveal a Bat-Cycle inside! If you visit the Official Argentina McDonald's website you can watch a video of the TV Commercial. Here's a link to check it out, just click HERE! Oh yeah, when you get there click on a tab that says "Mira El Comercial" to see the TV spot. Also, a special thanks goes out to a good bat-citizen named Pedro for letting us know about this event!
Just a quick posting here. This is a pic sent in by our good friend Batmobilly! He said he just saw this action figure at Wal-Mart & it's sort of a very hard one to find so he took a picture. It's the ROBIN WITH BATCYCLE from the Fisher Price Imaginext DC SUPER FRIENDS toy line. Later, I told Billy that one day I was at Toys-R-Us. They had a HUGE area for all this great DC SUPER FRIENDS Action Figure stuff ( Vehicles, Play Sets, Figures, everything! ). There was a TON of toys & it took-up almost 1/2 the row. Out of curiosity I started to add-up all the prices in my head. Just to buy all the stuff they had that one day it would have cost like $300 dollars! The thing to keep in mind is that this is not even all the toys they have made ( or will make ). Not even close. Plus some other stores have "Exclusives", etc... So, I guess if you're like me & can't afford to buy it all ( I tend to be a "Completest Collector" ) then at least just get the few pieces that you really like. Well, this ROBIN figure with Bat-Cycle would go on that list because it's really cool!

Check this out! if you live near Australia then you might have seen one of these Batman Rides in your local Retail Store! It's a Vending Machine with Ride-On Toys of the Batmobile, Batcycle, & Bat-Jet Ski!! Plus, it just has incredible graphics all over it...I want it! This photo was sent in by a good friend named Belinda & I'm trying to get her to steal it for me. I hope she's able to get away with it. I'll keep you updated on that, ha!
I received a very excellent photo in my e-mail box this morning from our friend Ed ( Be sure to click on the picture up above for a larger, more detailed, photo ). He wrote, "It's the box art for the 1967 Aurora Batcycle Model Kit. This comes courtesy of the Box-Art Den Yahoo Group. The Group owners take scans of plastic model boxes, regardless of condition, and restores the artwork. Once a week they offer high resolution scans for free download, or you can purchase high resolution prints from them of restored box art. The Batcycle was this week's offering." WOW! Thanks Ed, this artwork is completely beautiful!! Seriously, I love the Vintage Graphics. If any readers would like to join the group you can CLICK HERE for more details!
OK, Today is the day! Today we are announcing the winner for the latest Bat-Blog Contest! Last night, at Midnight, we randomly picked a name out of the hat to see who won the Brand-New Hot Wheels (1:12 Scale) 1966 TV Series BAT-CYCLE With SIDECAR! I always love that part of the contests, getting to see who actually won the item we're giving away. I know I'm totally stupid but it's just a lot of fun, ha ha! Plus, this prize must have been pretty good because a ton of people sent in requests, that's awesome! I hope to have another contest pretty soon so keep an eye out for that. OK, enough stalling, ha ha! It's time to announce the winner! The lucky person this time is none other than Jonathan K. of Melbourne, Australia! WOW! Somebody from "down under" won ...that's cool! Jonathan, please contact us so we can confirm your correct mailing address. Then, we will be mailing you this beautiful Hot Wheels item! Plus, I'm gonna pack this prize very carefully because Australia is pretty far away from where I live & I want this prize to arrive safely. I know you're gonna love it because it really is very cool. I think that Mattel did a really great job on creating this item, the detailing is really well done.
Thank you to everybody who entered & better luck next time!
( Also, for legal reasons maybe, I gotta mention that Mattel, DC Comics, or Warner Bros had nothing to do with this contest. It's just a way for the Bat-Blog to show appreciation for its readers )
Since it's now November I thought I should get another Bat-Blog Contest going so, HERE WE GO! This time we're giving away a 1:12 Scale Hot Wheels 1966 TV Series Bat-Cycle with Sidecar, in the Original Box! This is just like the one in the 1960's Batman TV Show driven by Adam West & Burt Ward! If you have not seen one of these cool toys in person yet they are really nice, I mean, very well made. Now, the rules are pretty simple. All you have to do is send us an e-mail with your Full Name & Address. Also, be sure to put "BAT-BLOG 1966 BAT-CYCLE CONTEST" in the title. The contest runs until November 15th, 2009 till 11:00pm Central Time. The lucky winner will be randomly picked out of a hat on that night at midnight & then announced right here at the Bat-Blog the very next day, on November 16th. Now this contest runs for only about 10 days so please be sure to enter early! Oh yeah, I guess I gotta mention that this contest is not affiliated in any way with Warner Bros, DC Comics, or any other copyright holder. It's mainly just for fun & one way the Bat-Blog tries to show appreciation for it's wonderful readers! Here's a link-button to send us some e-mail:

OK Now, This is pretty cool! You might have read here at the Bat-Blog before about a company in the UK called Eaglemoss who issue those special DC Super Hero Collection Lead Figures ( In England they call them "figurines", oh la la ). They make these very small, but very detailed, mini-figures of all the DC Comics comic book characters cast in lead. This company is going crazy! I mean, there are like almost 40 something of these figures now! Well, anyway, they have this new "Special Edition" one coming out soon called BATMAN AND THE BATCYCLE. Oh man! It looks pretty awesome! Now before you totally fall in love please keep in mind that this Bat-Cycle is probably NOT a large full-size statue. If ya wanna see how small these things are then be sure to click the "Figurines" Tab at their website. You'll see a photo of an artist employee painting one. Now this special one might be a little bigger but I'm not sure. For more details be sure to check out their UK website by clicking HERE!

Our good friend, & ace reporter, "Batmobile Billy" just sent us a picture from his trip to the local Toys-R-Us Store & guess what he saw?! YES! The 1966 TV Series BATCYCLE AND SIDECAR 1:12 Scale Hot Wheels Car, Actually "Motorcycle" ( ha ha ), by Mattel was spotted & the retail price is around $40.00. Not too bad, for something so extremely beautiful! The 2nd photo shows the small 1:50 Scale vehicle next to it. Thank you Billy & great job on the photos, they're crisp, sharp, clear, & pretty! This is a Batman Toy that I am gonna HAVE to buy later...it's wonderful beyond words! In fact, I cried a little when I 1st saw the photo, ha ha! Readers - I don't know why the pics are showing smaller than usual today but please be sure to click on them for larger, more beautiful, photos!! Also, click on the link-button down below to get one before they're all gone!
