This is just a quick post to share a BATMAN Desktop Background Wallpaper I made the other night using some very current artwork of BATMAN from the New JUSTICE LEAGUE #1 Comic Book Issue.
Finally! It looks like the FATHEAD Wall Decal Sticker Company has finally come out with a brand-new BATMAN WALL STICKER! If you're not familiar with this product, basically, it's an extremely high-quality Vinyl Sticker that is Giant-Sized, I mean, SUPER-HUGE! This new one is sort of a "Comic Book" version & has the Dark Knight in a standing pose. You put it on the wall to decorate your Den or Office Space. They're also great for decorating kid's bedrooms. The quality is insane but I gotta warn you they're kinda pricey. For more info, check out the link below:
This BATMAN Fan-Made Humor Video combines a few clips from different animated versions of the Dark Knight & teaches us all some important lessons for life.
Just a quick post to let everybody know about a brand-new Batman Toy to keep an eye out for in the future. DC Comics & PEZ CANDY Inc. have teamed-up to create the JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA PEZ. This special PEZ Candy Dispenser Set will feature a bust of each character. So far they have announced Batman, Superman, & Green Lantern. But I'm guessing they will also be making other Superheroes as well ( Let's hope ). I mean, Hey! Where's Wonder Woman? Up above is a prototype photo. Stay tuned to the Bat-Blog & as soon as there is anymore news we'll let ya know.
While surfing through eBay the other day I came across this Life-Size BATMAN Statue & knew it had to be shared. Why? Well, besides being extremely cool, the same company also makes many other members of the Justice League. Just check out the 2nd photo: Superman, Flash, Martian Manhunter, Wonder Woman, and Green Lantern!!
THE QUARTER BIN website was lucky enough to get to go to the Movie Premier of JUSTICE LEAGUE: CRISIS ON TWO EARTHS and interview many of the people involved in creating the film. The 1st interview is with Actor James Woods who does the voice for Owlman. The 2nd one is the writer of the movie, Dwayne McDuffie, & the last one is with the always great, always wonderful, Andrea Romano - Voice Director.
Since the DVD Movies ( Regular DVD, 2-Disc Set, & Blu-Ray ) for the new DC Universe JUSTICE LEAGUE: CRISIS ON TWO EARTHS animated film is going on sale today I thought I would share a few Free Background Wallpapers to celebrate! One features just Batman & the other one has Owlman & our favorite Dark Knight... enjoy!
OK, Here's a list of all the Promo Deals the Retail Stores are having to promote sales of their DVD of JUSTICE LEAGUE: CRISIS ON TWO EARTH. The 3 I'm covering are the major outlets: Best Buy, Amazon, & Target. I checked the Walmart website & they didn't list anything so if they do something please let me know. There might also be other promotional items out there with other stores. I have tried to compile this information the best I can so if it's not totally accurate then it's not my fault, ha! Alright, here we go! Most of the stores on this list have a Free Exclusive if you buy the DVD 2-Disc Set or the Blu-Ray Copy only. Looks like you don't get anything if you buy the regular DVD movie. Best Buy has an Exclusive 3" Figure of OWLMAN ( yeah, you read that right, 3 inches. But it does look kinda cool though ). Amazon gives you a Free Lithograph Poster with a graphic from the animated film ( No Batman shown ). The movies you buy at Target have a special "Extra Short of The SPECTRE" that sounds pretty cool! But, at the Amazon website they show that they have it too ( I think Target sells a lot of stuff through Amazon, like they are partners or something ). If I get any more information on any new promotional items then I'll be sure to post them here. So, stay tuned with the Bat-Blog!
More News from TOY FAIR 2010: OK, you know the toy company named FUNKO? They make those awesome Wacky Wobbler Nodders. I really love those things. Well, now they have another division in their company that makes cute Character Plush Dolls ( or Plushes ). They're doing the Wizard of OZ, Alice in Wonderland, & the Justice League of America! To get things started here are Batman, The Flash, Green Lantern, & Superman. Now this totally makes me wonder since they finally ( finally! ) got the right to do DC Comics comic book characters then maybe, just maybe, they might start to make a few Funko Bobblehead Nodders. That would be so awesome!!
William Baldwin is the new Batman! Well, he will be in the next animated DC Universe film, JUSTICE LEAGUE: CRISIS ON TWO EARTHS. The new movie has a release date of February 23rd, 2010. Baldwin recently had a very interesting conversation about his new role over at the COMICVINE website. You can read the interview by clicking HERE! Also, Look down below to see the JUSTICE LEAGUE: CRISIS ON EARTH TWO Teaser Trailer!
The next animated film from the DC Universe will be titled "Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths". ( Please excuse the audio in this video but it's practically "bootleg", ha ha ). In the new movie a “good” Lex Luthor arrives from an alternate universe to recruit the Justice League to help save his Earth from the Crime Syndicate, a gang of villainous characters with virtually identical super powers to the Justice League. What ensues is the ultimate battle of good versus evil in a war that threatens both planets and, through a diabolical plan launched by Owlman, puts the balance of all existence in peril. All-star voice cast led by Mark Harmon (NCIS) as Superman, James Woods (Ghosts of Mississippi) as Owlman, Chris Noth (Sex and the City, Law & Order) as Lex Luthor, William Baldwin (Dirty Sexy Money) as Batman, Gina Torres (Serenity, Firefly) as Super Woman, and Bruce Davison (X-Men) as the President. Now a lot of Batman Fans are gonna go totally crazy because Kevin Conroy won't be Batman in this version but I say give somebody else a chance, switch it up, be different. Overall this film looks pretty cool. Can't wait to see it!
While surfing the web the other day I came across this hilarious webcomic by Pass Fail Studios. It revolves around the characters of the DC & Marvel Comics Universe. Up above is one such panel, click on it for more easy reading. The web comic has a ton of references to Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Powergirl, Wolverine, Spiderman, X-Men, etc... & some are pretty gosh-darn funny! Check it out sometime. Oh yeah, remember to BOOKMARK the Bat-Blog before ya go!
For anyone who will be going to a Comicon this year be sure to look out for these 2 NEW Batman products. The 1st one is a limited-edition action figure made by Mattel called "Knight Shadow Batman". He looks kinda weird being totally black with just a hint of dark gray accents but I guess that's the "shadow" part, ha ha! Still, looks kinda cool. The next item is a Brass Batman Paperweight put out by Monogram. It's a part of their Justice League series. There's one of Superman too ( but who cares, ha ha! ). If any readers spot any more "Comic Book Convention Exclusives" please let us know so we can share because that's what the Bat-Blog is all about.

OK, I want to say, 1st thing, that I received a free copy of this DVD for review but that in NO way affects my opinion here. I'm gonna be very honest about what I feel about this movie. This movie is AWESOME! Justice League, The New Frontier is Warner Brothers' latest DVD film that is being released to stores today, Feb 26th! It's the adaptation of Darwyn Cooke's popular graphic novel from a few years ago. He was an adviser on the film so it totally retains the look & feel of his famous artwork. The graphic style is sort of an homage to the animation art that was popular in the 1950's. Very simple & minimal with strong color palettes. The art direction of this film is beautiful. The sound effects & voice acting are top notch! There are too many great actors to name here but the voices were all wonderful. The storyline starts out in the Korean War & ends when John F. Kennedy is president so it's almost all about the Cold War era. The DC Comic Book characters are the ones from the Silver-Age of comics so that has a great nostalgic appeal. There's a few political statements here & there but they're kinda watered down ( The general public thinks The Flash might be a Communist because his costume is RED, ha ha ). The basic story is how the Justice League got together & formed a team. There's a huge event that places the earth in danger & they all get together to fight it. Overall I really enjoyed this movie & highly recommend it. My only gripe is that at 75 minutes it seemed a little short. Other than that small detail the artwork, sound e/fx, voices, storyline, is really very good. I guess if I was to rate it by number I would give it a 7 or 8 out of 10. If you liked the graphic novel then you'll love this animated version!
