Video - Monster Jam Batmobile - El Paso 2008 - Batman Monster Truck Freestyle
Just for fun, here's an older video from 2008 when the Monster Jam Batmobile did some tricks on the arena field. This was shot in El Paso, Texas: YYYEEEEE HHAAAWW!
BATMAN AND ROBIN Toys and Collectibles from the 90's
In the 1990's it was a great time to be a Batman Toy collector. I mean, you had all the movies going on, and then on TV, you also had the wonderful Animated Series Cartoon. Shown here are a few cool toys & 90's memorabilia pieces picked totally at random. The 1st item is a very RARE 1992 BATMAN RETURNS Ralston Cereal Store Display Sign. Kids would have seen this at the Grocery Store & then start begging Mom, ha! I really like the graphics on this thing. Speaking of the cereal, the next pic shows a few BATMAN RETURNS Cereal Box Premiums that were available FREE inside the boxes! These are 3-D Flicker Bookmarks, meaning, you tilt them & the pictures change from one image to the other. There were 3 of them in the complete set: Catwoman, Batman, and The Penguin. Now the next photo sort of gets away from the movies for a minute. This is a Plush Batman Doll from 1994 ( 16" Tall ) that was tied-into "The Adventures of Batman and Robin" Animated TV Series. I love the old cartoon logo & the packaging is interesting with the "open box" design. Last, but not least, is a RARE 1997 BATMAN AND ROBIN Movie Store Display Sign from Taco Bell. It advertised the contest they had going on their Pepsi Drink products. Well, does any of these items bring back any memories? I know back then I was totally about the cereal, ha ha!

Video - BATMAN BEYOND Animated Series Fan-Film
Years ago director Michael Valentine attempted to make a fan-film based on the BATMAN BEYOND animated series TV cartoon. Due to some difficulties ( I'm guessing lack of money )the movie was never finished.
Harley Quinn Tattoo Art Spotted on Spike TV Show
OK, This post is kinda weird & sorta cool, all at the same time. Our friend lee was watching TV recently & saw this Harley Quinn Tattoo on a large SUMO Wrestler! The artwork is actually pretty good & it's cool he's a Batman Fan. This was shown on the Spike TV Show, "Manswers".
BATMAN Gets the Calvin and Hobbes Window Vinyl Decal Sticker Treatment
A friend to the Bat-Blog sent us this hilarious graphic of Batman. It's a parody of those "Calvin Peeing On..." decals you used to see all the time on the back of pick-up trucks owned by stupid Rednecks, ha ha!

Vintage Batman Toys - 1966 BATMAN ACTIVITY BOX Play Set by Whitman
I have been meaning to post these picture for awhile but here they are at last! Shown right here on the Bat-Blog is this totally amazing Vintage 60's Batman Toy. This is the BATMAN ACTIVITY BOX Play Set made by Whitman in 1966. Basically it's a very large paper place mat (you can color) that comes with cardboard punch-outs of Batman characters, building pieces, & vehicles. Oh man, this old toy is so beautiful!! The graphics are really great. Just look at all the photos and you will start to cry, ha! I love the stand-up people here, characters like: Batman, Robin, Alfred The Butler, Commissioner Gordon, Joker, The Penguin, a Policeman, & even Batman and Robin as their alter-egos, Bruce Wayne & Dick Grayson! There are some pieces for the Gotham City Police Station, the Bat-Cave, Wayne Manor, and also the Batmobile Car and Bat-Plane!! They just don't make toys today with this sort of imagination & quality. Especially since this thing was meant to be sort of inexpensive. So, I gotta know, what do you think about it? Please leave comments.

BATMAN Wallpaper Background - ADAM WEST TRIBUTE
OK, I know that on "Wacky Wallpaper Wednesday" I usually post 2 or 3 Batman Backgrounds, but this one is so extremely great that I only need to post one!! Now, before it sounds like I'm bragging about myself, I'm not, I swear! ha ha! This one was created exclusively for the Bat-Blog by a Graphic Artist/Designer named Christopher Franchi. It's a Tribute to his favorite Batman Actor, Adam West! This is also his actual artwork. You see, Christopher’s Detroit-based METALUNA 5 MEDIA has created designs for bands such as KISS, Alice Cooper, AC/DC, White Stripes, and many more. They have also created landmark graphics for such entertainment properties as Superman, Batman, Star Trek, Bettie Page, Spawn, Peanuts, Evil Dead, Betty Boop and the list goes on. So, in closing, everybody should know how honored I am to receive this BATMAN wallpaper as a gift, thanks Christopher! You ROCK, Sir!!

New DC SUPER-PETS BOOKS - Book Launch Celebrates with Contest
Picture Window Books ( a division of Capstone Publishing ) just released a brand-new series of Children Books called DC SUPER-PETS. The Illustrator for these are none other than Art Baltazar. You might recognize his name from the successful TINY TITANS comic books. The basic concept for this new series is that they tell stories about the adventures of SUPER-PETS who are owned by some of your favorite DC Comics Superheroes: Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, & Green Lantern. Their names are Ace the Bat-Hound, Krypto the Super-Dog, Streaky the Super-Cat, Beppo the Super-Monkey, and Jumpa the Super-Kangaroo.
Now, to celebrate the launch of this new series, Picture Window Books is sponsoring a writing contest for students in grades 1-3. Children enter the "My Pet is Super" contest by writing an article for an imaginary newspaper, The Daily Planet, about why their own pet is super! Art Baltazar will create an illustration of the winning Super-Pet that will appear in a future book in the DC Super-Pets series. The winning student will receive the original art as well as copies of the book. Authors of the top 50 entries in the contest will also win free books. For complete rules and to enter, visit CapstoneKids.com The contest runs from January 15th, 2011 - February 28th, 2011.

BATMAN AND ROBIN Toon Tumbler Glass - DC Comics 75th Anniversary
Here's a brand-new Batman product we recently came across that is totally cool! This is a BATMAN AND ROBIN GLASS made to celebrate the 75th Anniversary of DC Comics. This was a special promo glass made by Toon Tumblers for the Baltimore Comic Con. The glass features different artwork on both sides that was taken from a few vintage BATMAN comic book covers. One represents the 1940's Golden Age ( Batman # 9 ) & the other is more Modern-Day ( Batman and Robin, The Boy Wonder # 9 ). I guess it's also important to note that the artists are Dick Sprang & Jim Lee. I have shown the original covers here for reference. I have always loved this iconic image of "Batman & Robin in The Spotlight"...it's Classic! For more information about this product just click the button down below ( But please keep in mind that if it doesn't show-up in a search that it is sold-out & will be available later ).

Scott McMahon's BATMAN INSPIRED Comic Book Art
Here at the Bat-Blog we recently came across a very interesting website called SCOOT SKETCHES! Basically, it's the personal journal of a Graphic Artist named Scott McMahan who is trying to tell adventure stories with fun and colorful characters inspired by his childhood. The main focus is Batman along with many super-villains like Catwoman, Bane, Joker, etc... Scott's art style is sort of like the stuff you would see in Children's books. It's kind of cartoon-like & simple. Wait, I guess a better word would be "minimal". Another interesting thing to notice is his pastel color palette. Overall it's pretty excellent stuff. Now, I've shown a few examples here ( Please click on them for larger sharper images ) and if you would like to see more then just click HERE!

Arturo's Wonderful JOKER Costume & Make-Up Photos
One of the greatest things I love about doing the Bat-Blog is getting to meet Batman Fans from all over the world. Here are some photos sent-in by a friend named Arturo. He lives in Mexico & wanted us to see his JOKER costume he made for a party. It looks like everybody had a fun time! The costume is very well done & the funny thing is that he had a mustache ( which he didn't shave off ) & he covered it with white make-up in honor of Cesar Romero, the Actor who played the Joker in TV's 1966 BATMAN! Now, how cool is that?! Whoops, I guess I should explain that, back in the 1960's, Romero refused to shave his trademark mustache & left it on to become the Joker. They just covered it with white make-up & it's always been sort of an unusual piece of Bat-History. Thank you for sending the wonderful photos Arturo!
BATMAN VS THE INTERNET - Funny Parody by College Humor
Over at the COLLEGE HUMOR website they're featuring some hilarious Batman and Robin Parody comic book covers created by Caldwell Tanner & Kevin Corrigan. The focus is "Batman VS The Internet", ha ha! I'm posting a few examples here but if you want to see more then just click HERE!
DC Comics News - Win an iPad with Jim Lee Sketch
Right now DC Digital Comics is having a sweepstakes where you can win an iPad that the comic book artist Jim Lee has customized. Basically he drew a large sketch of Batman on the back of the tablet. To enter the contest you need to become a member of ComiXology. Which, I think, is free. Now, don't get me started on my issues with the whole "Comic Books Going Digital" thing, ha! But the artwork on this iPad is pretty cool & this would be neat to win. For more details, click HERE!

Joel's Awesome BATMAN TOY COLLECTION Photos
Check out these wonderful "Batman Toy Collector" photos sent in by a Bat-Blog Fan named Joel. There is some extremely cool stuff here! Like, he has almost all the special Batman Converse Sneakers they recently made. These shoes are really cool! He also has some great T-Shirts, Action Figures, DVD Movies, Coloring Books, and if you look hard you'll even see the RED Bat-Phone! It's the one that the Gotham City Police Commissioner Jim Gordon uses to call the Dark Knight, ha ha! I wanna thank Joel for sharing his collection with us. It's always great to see what other bat-collectibles people have & how they display it. If you have something like this then you should send us some pics too. Our email button is always on the top right-hand side of this blog.

New Retro-Style BATMAN and JOKER Pinback Buttons
OK, are these called "buttons" or "pins"? ( In England they call them "badges" ). But what ever you call them these brand new Retro-Style BATMAN & JOKER Pinback Buttons are awesome! They look like they're vintage, like from the 1960's & I love the design. My favorite is the one with Joker's face, very cool. Also, the great thing, is that they sell for only $1.75 each so even I can afford to buy them all, ha ha! These are being sold over at the SUPERHERO STUFF website, here's a link to check them out.
